The entrance led to a part of the forest that seemed to be completely cut off from the rest. It was surrounded by a gate of trees of sorts, and inside there was a beautiful garden, with intricately designed wooden tables to boot. Some fairies even fluttered around the flowers.
Banna, not noticing how scared or uncomfortable he made Sin, gestured grandly. "Welcome," he says, doing a twirl.
The nymphs treated the group without malice or hatred, though the way they ran things.. well, it seemed like if Banna said the word, they'd turn on them without a second thought.
Arwyn sat at one of the tables, almost crushing a fairy as she flew away with an "eek!". "Feed us, if that's what you're doing, then we gotta skidaddle," Arwyn says impatiently. Banna laughs. "Ever the guest! Adelaide!" A tree nymph comes forward, holding in her hand a tray of assorted fruits and vegetables. "That all?" Arwyn did not look impressed. Banna humphed. He claps a hand and out comes more tree nymphs, carrying more trays of various edibles.
Finn goes up to Sin to check up on them. He was usually quite trusting, but Banna was.. weird. Weirder than even Rita. -
Avalon made sure not to crush any of the fairies as he sat down. One fairy landed on his hand and winked at him. She flew off and he looked at the nymphs bringing the food. He thought I should have explored outside my village a long time ago. This is amazing.
-
Gineye looked down at sin when they grabbed his hand, appearing worried "you ok kiddo?" he asked quietly
-
(Do you mean a pixie?)
Sin shook their head, “I’m scared,” they said quietly finally in their own voice. -
(Nah. I know there's different myths and interpretations, but I explain the fae vs fairy thing on Arwyn's character sheet)
Banna sits next to Arwyn and tries to place an arm around her, which leads to her almost cutting it off. "What you been up to?" He asks, scooting a few spaces away and giving up on trying to be close. "Quest, wizard, epic journey, fulfilment, yada yada. You know the deal," she says as she picks up one of the grapes and sniffs it. Arwyn seemed to decide that it was fine and bit into it.
Meanwhile, Finn is stuffing his bag with sandwiches as soon as he sees that Arywn wasn't afraid to eat.
"Oh, again?" Banna asks Arwyn, raising an eyebrow.
"Doesn't matter, you know what I'm really here for," Arwyn whispers, changing the subject and facing Banna seriously. -
Avalon, being a naga, was eating the fruits whole. Of course he was smart and only ate small fruits so he wouldn't break his snake-like jaw. He looked at Arwyn and Banna while he ate so he could hear them.
-
Gineye hummed softly "wjy are you scared?" he asked sin
-
“ I don’t....know...I’m just...I feel suspicious.”they reasoned quietly. They looked around. Carefully, as if something might jump out at them.
-
And something did jump out at them, however, it was only a fairy.
"And you already know that I can't give it to you," Banna says to Arwyn, chomping into an apple himself.
"And you already know that I'll steal it, if I have to," Arwyn said, grinning wildly, waiting for Banna to make a move.
He never did, though. He places a hand onto his heart and shivers from some past trauma that Arwyn had caused him.
"Just finish your food, you're welcome to spend the nigh-" Banna starts, but Arwyn slams a hand on the table and stands, silencing him. "We're not camping here. Listen Banna, we're on a very tight schedule. You either give me the boat, or I'll kill you. You won't be as lucky as last time," she says with finality. Banna sits in stunned silence.
"Boat?" Finn whispers questioningly, looking at the rest of his teammates. -
Avalon stopped eating as Arywn yelled at Banna. He looked at Finn and shrugged. He figured maybe they needed a boat to go down a river or cross the ocean but what concerned him was that Arywn was implying she had killed Banna before. Was Banna immortal?
-
Gineye jumped slightly at the sudden loud sound and looked over at the argument. "Wjy do we need a boat?" Gineye asked aftwr a moment
-
Wrath snarled at the fairy but Sin took over again before wrath could harm the creature.
Sin frowned, what arwyn said implied attempted murder, either she had left him to die rather than finishing him off, had spared him, or he had somehow escaped in another fashion . -
Banna chuckles, though it's rather nervous, not as confident like before .. because now it seems he doesn't have the upper hand. At first Banna was going to bargain for the boat, but now it was abundantly clear that Arwyn would take it if she really wanted to.
"You need a boat because you'll later come across a large lake, a caspian sea of sorts," Banna explains, turning towards Gineye's questioning voice and trying to avoid Arwyn's gaze that was undoubtedly fixated on him.
Finn intervened. "With all due respect, why not just give it to us? Then we'll be on your way.. and we won't.. um.. k-kill you," he gently grabs Arwyns arm, but she shakes it off. "Speak for yourself," she hisses.
"It's not that simple," Banna sighs. -
Avalon was confused on how simply giving a boat couldn't be a solution. He thought for a moment and asked "Why? Does someone else own the boat? Is it cursed?"
-
Gineye summoned his ax and let it rest on his shoulder as he watched the conversaion, glancing around at their surrounding
