"Woah awesome!" Evangeline said in astonishment. "T-that must mean we've all reverted to an age that we're most comfortable in, or maybe just our spiritual ages," Jamie said, more to themselves than anything, but everyone heard it. "78 though? Dang girl, you put the phrase 'kid at heart' to a whole new light," Evangeline went on to say.
-
Matthew said "How bout that then? 78 and you tried doing stunts like your 24. I admire that in a lady."
-
Emily smiled and chuckled. “Yeah, my husband wasn’t too happy about the childish nature, but I never gave a crap about that. Just made it more fun.” Emily chuckled. “Oh geez I hope I don’t end up where he did.” Emily added with a frown. Then she smiled again from Matthew’s compliment. “Thank you! I was a professional in my teenage years, but my parents grounded me. Literally. They threw out all my tight rope equipment. Then the arranged marriage kept me in the house, then that sucker finally reached his time and my sister let me stay with her family. We spent our days rebuilding our sister bond until I figured I would die anyways if I didn’t get the spark back in my life. So I did. Unfortunately my legs aren’t what they used to be and landing on the ground full force at the edge of the Grand Canyon was too much for them.” Emily chattered. “Dammit I’m rambling. Maybe I am a little 78 in the brain.” Emily then chuckled.
-
Matthew said "You're welcome, ma'am. There isn't much to tell about me. I don't know if y'all like country music but I am a professional in that regard. My life was taken by a disturbed young lady."
-
“I wish I had done something cool like that. You guys are so interesting!” Connor cried. The whole spirit thing explained his younger appearance, and he glanced at Jamie. He? Her? They were more intelligent then they let on. “Hey, Jamie, what are your pronouns anyway?” Connor asked. He had seen lots of transgender patients waiting for sex changes while in the hospital, so he was pretty open minded and knew better then to assume.
-
"Oh! I'm nonbinary, but you don't have to worry too much about pronouns. I won't be offended on whatever you decide to call me," Jamie said to Connor with a smile. Evangeline sort of facepalmed herself. "This whole time I was thinking of you as a boy! Is it alright if I just use 'he' and 'him' now that I've gotten used to it?" Evangeline asked. "Sure," Jamie shrugged. "And I died in a pretty lame way. Some crazy guy stabbed me to death," Jamie sighed. Jamie didn't know why they were so upset because there wasn't even much to miss about being alive.
-
“Great! I’ll just use they/them pronouns then.” Connor said with a grin. Everyone else has such sad stories. Speaking of, how was that girl who moved to the other car?
-
“Oh, hey! Did any of you die from a gun or explosion? Because if so... I guess you went out with a bang!” Emily chuckled. “Excuse my death jokes, but if comedy is tragedy plus time, this is the best thing that’s ever happened to my sense of humour.” Emily chuckled.
-
Connor let out a small, cute giggle. “You’re actually really funny!” He said with a laugh, tugging on his sweater slightly. This was the most social interaction that wasn’t heavy or awkward he’d had in years.
-
Matthew just smiled and said "Nothing wrong with jokes. Nothing wrong at all."
-
"Ouch," Evangeline said in a mock hurt tone at the joke. "Guess I went out with a bang," Evangeline stated with a playful smirk, but didn't evaluate.
Jamie was starting to feel more comfortable around the group and started to slowly revert into their usual energetic self. Jamie wandered up to the dark skinned girl who seemed to be sitting alone. They didn't say a word to her but Jamie smiled in childlike wonder, just studying her. -
Kenitu awoke as she felt someone’s gaze on her. “Minidini newi yemitifeligewi?” She mumbled, before fully gaining consciousness.
-
"Hello there," Jamie said with a smile. "Mind if I sit across from you?" They asked.
Evangeline made more death jokes. "What if there's a truth or death game? Wanna know the difference between pesky exes and grim reapers? You'll only hear from grim reapers once." She went on and on. -
Connor laughed at all of the jokes, noticing that Jamie was gone but not paying it any mind,

Kenitu blinked a few times at the stranger. “Why not.” She said dismissively. Who was this kid, anyway? Whoever she was, she sure was strange. If she was a she. -
Jamie sat down across from the girl. "What's your name?" They asked, cautiously, ever so cautiously, as if holding onto a conversation with this girl was as fleeting as a buttefly drifting past.
Evangeline stopped mid-sentence, and frowned. She seemed to be deep in thought. "What do you think our loved ones are doing right now? Has anyone noticed that we're gone yet? Are we being moved on from and forgotten as we speak?" She asked generally, not really expecting an answer.
