Jessica raised an eyebrow at him. Something seemed familiar, but she couldn't place it. She might have met him and his sister before, but their appearance has changed since then. "Thanks. Why'd you tell him to leave?" Jessica asked, acting naive and innocent, as if she didn't know the boy's motives.
-
“Hm? Oh, I just always sit here. It’s no biggie.” He said, brushing it off with ease. “How about you, though? You’re definitely new.”
-
"I'm Jessica Sage. Yes I'm new." Jessica replied, showing confusion to his interest in her. "I'm nothing special though. Just a girl from Gotham with a Dora hairdo and fedora." She chuckled. She wasn't used to this, since normally the nerd rep didn't get her the charmers. So acting ditzy right now was pretty easy since she was flustered, but she would have to be careful not to allow being flustered to control her.
-
“You’re from Gotham? Gosh, that city can give me the spooks. What was it like?” Ajax asked, leaning against his arm which he now rested on the table. If his sister wanted something, he had to want it to. That was the rule. And besides, once you got past her dizty demeanor, there was something about this girl that draws you to her.
-
As Jessica studied him, she then thought of who he might possibly be. Take off the glasses, and if he has red hair... Then if you undo his sisters braids and imagine her with blue eyes... "Yeah, but my father's a detective to he's always been able to protect me. My mother is an entrepreneur, so we lived in the safer parts of Gotham. We moved here because there was a job opening for my dad, more customers for my mom, and because... Well, I have a slight crush on the twins of steel." She chattered, making sure to say it as if she was trying to hide it, but still said the last part so he could hear. Then she shyly looked away as if she was hiding a blush when in reality she was hiding a smirk. Then she took a deep breath before returning her gaze to him from the corner of her eye to see his reaction.
-
Ajax was half listening until she mentioned her little ‘crush’. He snapped back to attention. “You like Azure and Crimson?” He asked, trying to sound more curious then intrigued. Oh, his sister would love this. Or hate it. Depending on how Ajax played his cards.
-
Jessica noticed how he snapped to attention and fought the smirk that wanted to appear on her lips. "Uh... Well... I..." She muttered shyly, tucking her hair nervously behind her ears. "Uh... Y-You know, Ch-Chi-Chinese Thro-Throwing Stars just l-lo-lo-look amazing, d-don't they?" She stuttered, making it appear she was nervously trying to change the subject. She gave him a naive smile, making it looked like she hoped he would follow along the changed topic when in reality she was studying for any smug expressions that would mean he thought he knew something she didn't.
-
Ajax took a moment, and then smiled. “Yes, Chinese Throwing Stars are quite interesting. Are you a fan of the culture?” He said, taking the subject change in stride.
-
She nodded, hiding her disappointment to not see any signs of smugness. However that could just not be his personality, but he seemed a bit smug to her. "Yeah. I'm interested in several cultures. Japan, Chinese, Russian, Oh, did you know that there used to be this game called Russian Rollete, which is kind of like spin the bottle, only you're not just gambling with your social life. Everyone sits in a circle and spins a gun in the centre of said circle. When the gun stops spinning, the person the handle is pointed to has to aim the gun at their head and pull the trigger. There is only one bullet in the gun, so if you get the round without a bullet the game continues. I think the game ends when someone gets the bullet." She chattered, keeping up her nerdy act. Though this part of the act was easy, because now everything she was saying was true.

"You think?" he said with a laugh. "It definitely ends when someone dies. Or when everyone has gone once, if you don't plan on killing people." Ajax peered over his glasses to take a look at the craftsmanship of the throwing star. "That's actually really impressive though. Good work."
-
She chuckled and nodded. "Well who knows. I bet it's a game that they definitely fight over the rules. "I don't think think I'm supposed to shoot myself... Let me see those rules!" That would be funny to watch, not so much fun to be part of though." She chuckled. "And thanks. My dream is to make movie prop weapons as a career such as throwing stars, katanas, etc." She added with a smile as real passion sparkled in her eyes. It was a craft she enjoyed, crafting the beautiful but deadly pieces of metal that represented centuries of culture. "What about you? Any passions?" She asked as she rested her hand in her chin. She hoped he would say something obnoxious or boring, because she was actually beginning to enjoy their chat.

"Well... I am a fan of archery. I always wanted to be in the Olympics for it, but my mom said no, haha." He said, scratching at the nape of his neck. that had been a fairly painful conversation with his mother, actually.
-
"Why? She didn't want you turning into a bear?" Jessica chuckled, referencing Brave, a movie she loved as a kid. Shoot, he said something actually interesting. "My mom's a really good dart player and archer. It's one of her favourite hobbies." She added. That's okay, there was no way they could get too close in one class. She would just be careful to avoid him.
