Alex hummed the song Lost Boy by Ruth B. As she read. She looked up from her novel and wondered what it would be like to adopt Lily. They would probably watch Peter Pan on Alex's birthday and whatever was Lilly's favorite movie on her birthday. Alex would sing her songs like Lost Boy or True Colors as lullabies. She could home School Lilly, and get money from the government to do that. Or she could send Lilly to whichever school she taught at.

Lily finally caught the frog and then ran over to Alex and showed it to her, "Look!" she said, "Isn't it cute?"

Alex smiled, watching the frog leap around in Lilly's hands. Alex remembered when she was little, her favorite animals were seagulls. They were very gentle, pretty, and cute looking to Alex. She would collect and clean their feathers to make hats, accessories, jewelry, and decorations with them. She probably still had a shoe box of seagull feathers somewhere. "Are frogs your favorite animal?" Alex asked.

Lily shrugged, "I don't know, maybe."

"My favorite animal is Seagulls." Alex told Lilly. She remembered painting, decorating, or dying seagull feathers she collected and selling them in order to make money for college. She also worked as a baby sitter and wrote a children's book series during College to pay off the rest.

"Seagulls are cute!" Lily said happily.

Alex smiled. "So other people lived here before?" Alex asked. "Did they know you were here?" Alex asked.

Lily shook her head, "No! They thought I was a ghost!"

"Why didn't you tell them you were there? Or ask for help?" Julianna asked as the frog leapt out of her hands.

"Because being a ghost is fun!" she said happily, "Aww, he escaped." she said when the frog jumped out of her hands.

Alex frowned. "So you would rather play a prank then live a healthy life?" Alex asked, tilting her head.

"Healthy? I'm healthy." said Lily, kind of confused.

"Really? How often were you able to eat while playing ghost? And how often did you have baths?" Alex asked. She might have worded it wrong. She meant live a healthy life with a family, friends, stuff like that. School, rights, freedom, etc.

"I ate when they were sleeping." Lily told her.

"Okay." Alex replied. "I would have asked for help if I were in your shoes." Alex added, continuing to read her novel. "Have you ever seen or read Peter Pan?" Alex asked.
