"I, just figured it out from people who lived here. What is this word?" she asked, pointing to the word 'raisin'.
-
"A raisin is a dried grape." Alex told her. She was impressed that the girl had taught herself to read. She wasn't happy that many people lived here and no one had bothered to find the girl. Though... The wrong people could have found her... So it made sense that Lilly hid.
-
"Okay! Thank you!" Lily said and then went back to her book, when she finished the book she looked up at Alex and said, "Can we go outside?"
-
"Okay. What are you wanting to do outside?" Alex asked. She hoped that Lilly would agree to not bringing frogs or slugs into the house.
-
"Catch frogies and other things!" Lily said happily while getting off her chair.
-
"Okay. But since this is my house now, I have a rule. Can you please not bring the frogs inside?" Alex asked. "If you like, I could make a little pen outside for you to keep your froggies in.
-
"It's okay, I always put them back near the water." said Lily.
-
"Okay then." Alex sighed in relief. She smiled and saw it was muddy out. "Do you have rain boots?" Alex asked.
-
Lily nodded, "Yes I do!"
-
"Okay. You should get them on. And be careful not to slip." She told Lilly as Alex got her own rain coat and boots on. "A mouth full of mud is not fun." She added, laughing softly.
-
Lily nodded and ran to wherever her rain boots were and put them on, they were pink with a different colored hearts all over them. She also put in her raincoat which matched her boots.
-
Alex smiled when she saw Lilly's rain coat and rain boots. She held the door open for Lilly and breathed in the fresh country air.
-
Lily happily skipped outside and then began to look for frogs.
-
Alex took out her favorite novel that she loved to read ever since she was a little girl. Peter Pan. The reason Alex was so strict and realistic was because as a child she was extremely gullible and optimistic. She always believed the best in people and she often got manipulated. As a teenager she had often gotten her heart broken. But she had always loved this book. When reading about Peter Pan and Wendy, it allowed her to have the feeling of thrill and optimism.

Lily saw a frog and attempted to catch it but it hopped away, so she chased after it.
