Archaios paused and then he tilted his head"most people will take a bribe, so I'll try that first" she said before he started walking

Lan was unsure... But curiosity took over. She followed Archaios as the phrase 'Curiosity Killed The Cat' replayed in her mind. 'You're a classic Alice in Wonderland, aren't you?' She thought to herself.

Archaios snagged some money from some people as they passed without them noticing before he walked in to the library

"Uh..." Lan muttered, but she kept her mouth shut. All her nervousness returned and she wondered if it was too late to go back.

Archaios walked up to the librarian"I would like to get a library card for this young lady" he said, tilting his head towards Lan

Lan looked up quietly and uncomfortably. "She needs permission from Miss. Pationa. Does she have signed permission?" The Librarian asked.

Archaios rolled his eyes "no, by I have about 20 thousand yen sitting I'm my pocket saying she doesn't need it.

"And where did you get that yen?" Asked the shocked Librarian. Lan felt very scared... She knew that if she bailed out now she would go to jail...

Archaios lifted an eyebrow"is that important?" He asked as he set the bag containing the money on the table

"Yes." The Librarian answered.

Lan walked backwards, hoping to go out the door unnoticed, but when the Librarian saw her she pretended her purpose was to sit on the bench.

He shrugged"I have a job running errands for an old man on the other side of town" he said truthfully, but he didn't mention how much he was paid, only that he had a job

"Okay..." The Librarian sighed. "But nethertheless she needs permission from a guardian."

"Maybe we should go." Lan whispered shyly.

Archaios snorted and snagged the money off the table before leaving
