Azalea weakly craned open her eyes, only to be greeted with a bright light that made her close them again. "Nigel...?"

Nigel said "Yes, my love?"

"I love you," Azalea whispered, fading out of consciousness once more, her voice getting lower and a bit more hoarse.

Nigel closed his eyes and said "I love you too."

Azalea's hand slipped from his as she finally found sleep, resuming to her peaceful state of rest.

Nigel pulled up a chair and sat down next to Azalea. He promised to stay with her even if she doesn't wake up.

About three hours later, Azalea groaned and stirred, awakening and sitting up weakly, coughing up some blood. She leaned on her hand, her arm quivering under the weight.

Nigel asked "Are you okay?"

Azalea nodded weakly, dabbing the blood away with a hanker chief. "I-I'm fine..."

Nigel wiped his eyes and said "I hope so."

Azalea looked to him and buried her face in his chest, quivering and finally showing the vulnerable little girl she had hidden for so long, the little girl she was when they were children, who was scared of everything and relied on him through everything.

Nigel's old instincts kicked in and he said "Never fear, Nigel Gerald Astral is here." It was something he always said whenever Azalea needed his help when they were kids.

Azalea blinked wildly and smiled, clinging to him tightly as tears rolled down her cheeks.

Nigel moved Azalea's face from his chest and kissed her lips.

Azalea went a faint pink and closed her eyes, quickly easing into the kiss, her hand resting on his shoulder.
