Ivystar slipped into the shadows. She headed out of camp and made her way to the ShadeClan border. Applefoot would be there.
"Ivystar!" he hissed. Ivystar followed the sound into a bush. "Come on," Applefoot whispered, "away from the Clans." -
Honeypool sighed. Camp was always so boring these days. Turning, she bounded out of the medicine den to enjoy the last few moments of sunshine. She lay down in a patch of grass outside the den, gazing at the busy camp around her.
-
Ivystar and Applefoot padded away from the territories to an old hollow. Ivystar's eyes widened. It would be the perfect place for a camp. "How did you find this?" she asked.
"I was searching for herbs, when we were all struck with greencough," Appledusk replied.
"It's amazing." Ivystar meowed.
Appledusk nodded, smiling. "I know."
They lay down and shared tongues, eating a squirrel they caught together.
Ivystar glanced at the sun. "Great StarClan!" she exclaimed. "I have to go! My Clan will be looking for me."
"Meet you here at moonhigh?"
Ivystar nodded. "Yes, if I can."
Appledusk purred. "Bye."
"Bye, Appledusk." Ivystar thundered back to FeatherClan territory, rolling in ferns to get rid of Appledusk's scent. -
Honeypool stands up, sighing as she got to her paws. The sun was slowly setting, the sky turned an erie red.
Honeypool padded back into the den, curling up in her nest, tired after the work. -
Ivystar curled in her nest and dreamed of Appledusk. Appledusk, Appledusk, Appledusk..
She woke just before moonhigh and walked back to the hollow, where Appledusk was waiting. He licked her ear.
"This will be a great place to bring our kits," Appledusk commented.
"Kits?!" Ivystar gasped.
Appledusk shrugged. "Well, I was trained as a medicine cat before I was as a warrior, and I learned what as expecting queen looks like. They're due in two moons, you should start-"
"HANG ON!" Ivystar meowed. "I'M expecting YOUR kits?"
Appledusk nodded. "Yeah."
Ivystar's eyes widened. "O-okay," she meowed. "Go on."
"You should start feeling kicking in roughly a quarter moon and-" he nosed her belly-"three to five kits, they're quite small so I can't tell the exact number." Appledusk meowed.
Ivystar sighed. She'd like kits, sure, but what was she going to say to the Clan?
As if reading her mind, Appledusk broke into her thoughts. "Queens don't have to tell who the father is."
The sun broke out over the skyline. Both cats departed.
Appledusk headed back to his camp. Ivystar was expecting his kits. She'd have to bring them to the hollow he'd found, then they could meet him..
Ivystar walked back, her mind buzzing. Kits-Appledusk-Lie..thoughts flew.
She slipped into her den and curled back into her nest, yawning. -
Honeypool stretched as the sun slowly rose, streaking the sky with red. She rose to her paws, stifling a yawn.
Her paws took her towards her medicine storage, as she had always done. She pawed at a few withered leaves of nettle, sighing as she realized how low she had ran on those herbs. -
Appledusk woke and headed out. He'd do the dawn patrol.
"Appledusk, why do you look so worried?" asked another cat from his Clan, Poppypelt.
Appledusk hadn't realized he was worried. But then, he was..
"Your patrol is leaving." Poppypelt purred. "But we could go hunting, just you and me.."
"No!" Appledusk snapped. -

Poppypelt's eyes widened in shock. "But..oh, Appledusk! Please!"
Appledusk sighed. "Fine."
Poppypelt smiled, purring. "I'm so glad you changed your mind!" she meowed, brushing her pelt against his. "Let's go towards the tulip field."
'The tulip field?' Appledusk wondered. The tulip field was just tulips, not many animals lived there. "Why the tulip field?" he meowed out loud.
"My favorite place," mewed Poppypelt. "Come on!"
She raced to the tulip field with Appledusk hard on her paws. He saw a mouse and dropped into the hunting crouch. Poppypelt sneaked around to the other side and chased it towards him. Appledusk pounced.
"We make a great team." purred Poppypelt affectionately. "We're a team, right?"
"I'm not sure." meowed Appledusk, getting the not-very-well hidden hint. The words she didn't speak. He wasn't the sort of cat to go off with two she-cats, breaking their hearts.
"I hope so," Poppypelt mewed.
When they got back, Appledusk saw that Poppypelt had moved her nest even closer t his. It looked like they where the same nest. "It's getting dark." she meowed. "We're on the dawn patrol, I heard the deputy say."
They curled up in their nests, Appledusk trying to stay away from Poppypelt but it wasn't possible.
"We'll have a new litter of kits, soon," a senior warrior commented. Poppypelt purred, wrapping her tail around Appledusk.
He flinched.'No!' he thought. 'We're not mates.'
"I'd love us to have kits," Poppypelt murmured sleepily. "You could be a father."
'I already am,' thought Appledusk. 'Almost.' -
Hey. Hi Forget the other characters besides Sweetflower.)
Sweetflower sighed. She wanted a mate. She was so lonely. But, its seemed as if everyone was in love. She thought, 'Well, I guess thats ok.' -
Okay)
Appledusk woke to find Poppypelt had moved unsettlingly close. He eased himself away. He decided to go hunting; the fresh-kill pile was empty. Soon he saw a vole, scuttling along in the undergrowth. Swiftly dropping into the hunter's crouch, he tiptoed towards it, pouncing at the last minute. The vole didn't get a chance to squeak, it was already dead. Appledusk caught a squirrel and a mouse before returning. Seeing Sweetflower, he nodded to her.
Ivystar was bored. She scratched out battle plans on the floor of her den, then scuffed them over. It was peaceful. The Clans hadn't had cause for battle in moons. But the peace couldn't last forever, and cats where getting restless. It was getting colder, though, leaf-fall would soon be upon them. The challenge of hunting in the snow would interest cats. Why, only yesterday two border patrols of different Clans had been found daring each other to do dangerous things, because they had nothing to do. They had been stopped, but cats would get hurt from peace if nothing happened. 'Why am I so worried?' Ivystar wondered. -
Sweetflower was shocked when Appledusk nodded to her. She was rarely noticed. She nodded back, her whiskers twicthing.
-
Appledusk dropped the fresh-kill on the pile. A few patrols where heading out.
Ivystar was patrolling the territory, following a day-old fox scent. Finally, something interesting. But the fox had come in, gone out, all in a day. She'd keep coming till she knew it wouldn't come back. She spotted a dark hole in the ground. The fox might have gone down there. She went down and saw it was a tunnel. Maybe..just maybe..
She kept going. At last, she saw light. Her whiskers twitched. ShadeClan scent. 'Yes!' she was in the heart of ShadeClan territory! Good for an attack, and also...
For Appledusk.
