When Leo said this, Brian's serious face melted into a small smile, like he was proud of the boy. He put his hand on Leo's shoulder and nodded. "That's good to know, Mr. Rhome! Good to know," he said while taking his hand back and glancing at the door before he looked back at Leo. "Now, why don't I show you where the dining hall is so you can eat? I'm sure you're hungry, too." Brian knew what he had done to this kid. He gave this kid a huge responsibility. God, Brian hoped he was right in trusting the kid. Deep inside, as inhumane as it sounds, he was wishing that he wouldn't get along with the others, so when things came to their worst he wouldn't have a trouble executing his little mission.
~~~~~~
When Morgan walked into the dining hall, he noticed that things were much different than he was expecting. In a way, everything was set up just like it was back in Ireland, but with a few differences. There was a stack of plates with silverware towards the back of the hall, and then a variety of foods were set up like a buffet. Several tables with chairs spread throughout the room, and a few Americans were preoccupied with eating. The two guards who had lead the three there even dissipated. But that's when the other boy spoke up and brought him out of his trance. "Jumped right into that question, didn't you?" he questioned back while sitting down across from the kid. "Don't you think we should learn something else about each other first? Like, I don't know, names? Yeah, names sound like a good place to start off." (f---ing s--- if they learned each others namesi can't rememberthen let's pretend they didn't xD) As Morgan spoke, he couldn't help but get a little sarcastic at the end, but he couldn't help himself. He wasn't the mean sarcastic type, usually. He was more of a stoic type, but he wasn't overly impressed with the kids attitude.
~~~~~~
Realizing that the line for food was a bit long, Ausra sat next to Morgan, but leaving a seat between the two. She was used to eating close next to everyone back home, but she still wasn't sure if she should trust the boys or not. But, Ausra was listening in on the conversation, and she did have to say that the Irish boy was making a point. Why jump into the deep stuff when none of them even knew each others names? But she didn't speak up though, as she was afraid she'd piss the other boy off, so she only nodded her head in agreement. -
Leo smiled at The General. He guessed he trusted him. That made his day. He was in a better mood now. He nodded again and thought. "Yeah. Okay. If that's not a big deal for you to show me. I could always try to find it myself, if it is to much to ask." Leo stated and looked a the doorway. He prayed he didn't have to sit by himself or sit with anyone he didn't exactly like. He didn't know if he liked any of them. Maybe, the Russian and Irish. Leo felt sorta lonely. He had a couple friends back in Canada, not many, but it was more then he had here. He blinked and watched The General's face. He liked him. He reminded Leo of family or someone close. It almost made him comfortable about the mission.
Zayn snorted again and shrugged. "I don't know. I was just planning to call you by where you lived. So, Ya know, we don't get close. Whatever. I'm Zayn." Zayn made a fake 'Wow' sound and ruffled his hair. "Let the female speak next. Lady's first. That's how it always goes when you're about to...Never mind. Anyways." He chuckled, Sarcastically. He let out a sigh and sat his hand's in his lap. He liked messing with these people. Zayn looked around, still wondering where the other child was. He didn't exactly care but he didn't want Canadian getting praised or anything. -
A slight chuckle escaped Brian's lips when Leo said that and he began walking towards the door. "It's no problem at all! I have to go down there, too. And it's best if I go with you, just so you don't get lost. I don't need one of my men chewing our ass out since you've hardly been here for two hours," he said while opening the door and waiting for Leo to step out. Now that Brian had talked with the boy, he couldn't believe how much he reminded him of his daughter, Alice. A kinder smile crossed his lips at the thought, but he quickly changed it back to that simple old smile he had before.
~~~~~~
Let the female speak next? So we don' get close? This boy, Zayn, he was really starting to remind Ausra of some of the kids back in Russian Lithuania. Cold hearted, brutal, and almost to a point so that they were inhuman. She used to be like that, and Ausra couldn't think back on how she used to be without wanting to stab herself. But not everyone was that way. When her and the other kids were younger, they weren't trained as harshly. Her training consisted of dancing so she could learn to calm herself down. Bad things usually happened when Ausra got mad. But, she was dragged out of her thoughts, knowing that she still had to answer Zayn's question. "I'm Ausra," she said simply. She probably would've answered the standard answer back home; Ausra Kubis, Lithuanian Division 6, but she figured that the two didn't want to know that, so she just left it at her name.
~~~~~~
Oh, a hole in his face would've been nice. Yeah, Morgan was less than impressed with Zayn's attitude, and he wanted to slap that bulls--- out of him. Still, he kept his features calm and cool, that same bored look on his face as he sighed and leaned back in his chair. "Yeah, let's not get too close, Zayn," Morgan agreed bitterly. "Morgan," he then stated. Yeah, his name wasn't much for an Irish one, as it was used more in Scotland and Wales than anything, but he was Irish for sure. A smirk crossed Morgan's lips for a split moment as he thought about that. How fun it would be to confuse the kid by taunting him in Irish. He wanted to think that the kid didn't know hardly any other language, especially old Celtic Irish. "Now, any other inquisitive questions?" -
Leo followed behind him. He felt uneasy about being in this building. However, he also felt professional for a weird reason. He smiled. "I don't think I would like being chewed out either." He almost sarcastically said, but it was more pleasant. The walk wasn't far. His steps were silent, preying. The arrival into the dining room felt odd. It was warm in there. Leo coming in the room was like a late student busting through the door. He felt awkward. Leo looked up at The General. "Thank You for everything." He bowed and took a seat. He sat directly in front or across the female. One seat away from the American.
Zayn narrowed his eye's and smirked. "You make it sound like I'm prying in to your boring lifes." Zayn chuckled and leaned back in his chair. He crossed his arms over his thin chest and glared at the girl. "I still want to know your power's." He huffed. The american walking in made him sit up straight, since he had The General with him. Zayn bit his lip and fake smiled at Morgan. He hated this kid. He hated them all. He didn't know which guy he hated the most. The girl. He liked messing with her. He loved it actually. 'I can make these people scared of me and rule them.' He thought. His lips formed a sly smile. He was evil and he liked it. -
When Zayn sat up straight again, Morgan couldn't help but glance over where Zayn had looked at before, and when he saw the General slowly walking away, he turned back to Zayn. "Oh my god," he muttered while rolling his eyes a bit. This kid was going to be a total dick to everyone but play teachers pet for the General. Great. "It's not like you have a greater life than the rest of us," Morgan said, a bored tone in his voice. But that's when the other kid came in and sat down, the one who's name Morgan still didn't know. His attention was then turned to the kid, who was sitting right across from Ausra. "Nice of you to join us," he said, though his voice wasn't hostile or sarcastic, but it wasn't welcoming, either.
~~~~~~
As the boy sat across from her, Ausra sighed and leaned back in her chair, a bored expression on her face. We've been together for how long and these a--holes can't help but pick a fight? she thought to herself. She guessed Zayn must have been really impressed with his powers to be such an ass. She guessed her powers really weren't all that great, though. She could turn invisible and create invisible barriers, so what? With another sigh Ausra looked across the table at the kid, and she offered him a small smile. "Sorry if these two seem hostile," she apologized. "I guess everyone of us are going to be at each others throats over the next month." -
Leo looked at the two males. "Oh. It's fine. I didn't exactly expect everyone to get along. We were pretty much pushed on top of each other." Leo shrugged and looked at male that spoke. His expression was calm, almost elated. Leo studied the kids. His blue orbs followed each face. The female was tough. He could read that. The Irish was focused and courageous. The American was dominant. "I didn't mean to be late. It wasn't suppose to be fashionable or something." He shrugged again and blinked. He didn't like the way the male's stared at him. It made Leo feel he did something wrong. He hated that.
Zayn eye's looked harsh at Morgan. He was ready to stick forks in someone's eyes. He turned his attention to the female. "I'm not at anyone's throat. It was a disagreement." Zayn chuckled at his sentence. He couldn't even believe it himself. His direction went towards the Canadian. "What's it like up there in Canada? Do you guy's like, eat maple leaves?" Zayn snorted and tuned his harshness down, after that sentence. He was going to make it hell for them. So, they better get prepared. He wondered if they hated him. Hopefully, they did. -
"Oh yeah, he eats maple leaves," Morgan said as he turned his attention back to Zayn, his voice utterly serious but emotionless. "I eat clovers, the four leafed ones being my favorite, she eats solidified vodka, and you eat s---; I can tell by how much of it is coming out of your mouth." With that, Morgan leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms again, but he turned his attention towards the line and realized that it was really short, so he could catch up and get some food. "Excuse me," Morgan then said as he got up and started walking towards the line. He didn't have time for Zayn's bulls---.
~~~~~~
As Morgan spoke and got up to head towards the line, Ausra was dumbfounded. She thought Morgan would be the quiet type, as he seemed to be before, but he lashed out, showing little to no anger. "Yeah, some disagreement," she remarked while throwing a glance at Zayn, running a hand through her blonde hair, her light eyes darting between Zayn and... she actually didn't get the other kids name yet. Her eyes rested on him, in a curious sort of way, though. "I'm sorry, I don't think I got your name," she said, turning her attention off of Zayn and to the boy across from her. -
Leo stared at the American, rolling his eye's. His eye's turned to the female. "I'm Leo. Like Leo The Lion. It's a constellation." He shrugged and nodded. He tried more pleasingly with a formal smile. He crossed his arms. "Oh. Right. Where are my manners? What Is your name?" Leo asked and stood. He guessed he better go and get food. He still felt shaky being here. It was like the first day of school or something. Leo watched the Irish. He guessed the male didn't like many people. That would be extra hard for Leo, since he was very likeable to people. He drew in a breath.
Zayn rolled his eye's. "Damn, you people can't take a joke. I was just....playing around." Zayn stood and pushed his chair in. He observed the room and followed into the line for food. He grabbed a glass plate and studied the food. It was different kinds. Chinese, Mexican, Swedish, and a bunch of other things. Zayn wasn't big on Mexican food. In fact, it disgusted him. Swedish food did too. His expression changed to normal. Well, his normal. His neutral expression looked like a shark ready to bite prey. Zayn shrugged and scanned the food.
Sorry, it's short. I'll make it a little longer next time.)) -
When Leo, as Ausra finally learned his name, stood up, so did Ausra. The line was much shorter now that the peopled started thinning out, so they should finally be able to eat dinner. It would be the first thing Ausra ate all day, and she could honestly say she was very hungry. Her stomach felt empty, like it was going to collapse in on itself, and in a way it hurt like hell. "Leo," Ausra repeated as she walked around the table and slowly made her way towards the line with Leo. "That is a nice name. Oh, yes, I'm Ausra Kubis. I'm from Lithuania," she added. Somehow she had already taken a small liking to Leo. He seemed nice enough, and not stupid, which was nice. He seemed like someone she could count on, unlike that other boy, Zayn. He was really beginning to get on her nerves. He obviously wasn't beaten enough during training.
~~~~~~
It took a little longer for Morgan to get food than it usually did. Back in Ireland, he didn't really care about the food. Food was food, and he'd gladly take whatever he could get, but this food was different. It all looked different, smelt different, and was just alien like to him. Not that he was complaining, but it was just new for him. In Ireland they didn't have a big fancy buffet line of all you can eat Chinese, Mexican, Swedish, and Fat Ass American. No, you just got a glass of water, beer if you wanted it, a plate with whatever they had out, and then you ate. Simple as that. Still, after a while of scanning through the food, Morgan finally got a plate and then he walked back over to sit down at the table him and the other kids were sitting at before, but since they weren't there he guessed they were still in line getting their food.
(It's fine, no need to apologize, I think they're a good size. Also, sorry for my random absences, school is really taking a toll on me and I haven't really got much energy left.) -
Leo followed up in line. He studied the food. In Canada, it was more rabbit and fresh vegetables. This was different. He rather not try the American. It looked greasy and thick. Leo went with a more Italian choice. He filled a bowl with spaghetti. The spaghetti had spices and peppers in it. Leo figured to go with a vegetable type thing, but still something from another country. "That's a unique name. I like that." He added a half smile and took a seat. Leo sat down in his same spot. He didn't want to be moving everywhere. Plus, he was far away from the American and that pleased him. He sighed and kept his hands in his lap. He looked over at the American. Leo was a more mannered person. He bowed his head and began saying thanks in his mind.
Zayn was ahead of the others. He didn't know what to get, but he wasn't going to hold up the line. He placed cocktail shrimp and corn nuggets on his plate. Along with a half of a apple. He loved apples. He returned to his seat and looked around. There wasn't a ton of people but there was a few. A good ten to fifteen. He looked at his plate. He began picking tiny bites of the apple and placing them in his mouth. He learned to eat few. The more you ate, the slower you were. He poked around the shrimp, not really eating it, just playing with it. He looked at the Irish. -
When Leo commented on Ausra's name, a bright smile appeared on her lips and she smiled, moving some of her pale hair out of her face. She followed Leo back to the table after filling her plate with some of the Swedish food (as she went on a mission to Sweden once and found that she really enjoyed their food) and she took her spot across from Leo. "Aciu," Ausra said, but a slight blush dusted her cheeks in embarrassment when she realized what she had said was in a language Leo probably couldn't understand. "Sorry, I meant thanks." Ausra knew many languages, but for some reason she kept mixing her Lithuanian into her English whenever she spoke the language. It was the only language she ever had trouble with, and she irritated herself sometimes. After that she just fell silent and began eating.
~~~~~~
As Morgan ate, he didn't speak at all. That was the norm for him, though. What reason did he need to start a conversation anyway? It would probably turn out just as lovely and as nice as the last conversation did, thanks to that annoying American, Zayn. Damn, he knew the stereotypes for American's were stuck up a--holes who were all about their AK-47's, killing zombies, big trucks, and freedom, but why did this guy have to fit so well into the a--hole category? Then again, Morgan supposed he could fit into the a--hole category at times, but Zayn seemed to want to make his life, along with those other two, a living hell. He didn't voice any of these opinions out loud, anyway, and his facial expressions didn't give away any sign of those thoughts either. He was extremely hard to read." -
Leo smiled to himself. He liked the way she was able to speak different languages. Leo had never been able to. He could speak Spanish, but barely. "You're welcome." He twirled pasta noodles around his fork and watched them carefully. He studied each one, trying to decide what the spices were. He shrugged to himself and placed it in his mouth. He felt awkward eating with people. At home he wound eat in the woods alone. He would pick berries and that was lunch. At dinner, rabbit, bird, deer, or something meat, was dinner. It was hunted and cooked on a stove or fire. He didn't eat with his family. He usually took the food and sat out in the woods alone. Leo's whole life was about being alone. He loved people, but he felt peaceful alone. People can kill. The woods couldn't, unless fire or something happened. He placed another bite in his mouth. Pasta wasn't something he ate normally. This was weird to him.
Zayn wiped hair out of his face. He glared up at the ceiling, placing a nugget in his mouth. He chewed silently and ate silently. His eye's staring at each teenager. He probably didn't like any of them. Zayn hated the silence. "So, Blondie, what was it the General talked to you about? Did you get into trouble? Did he tell you who was going to die first? What did he say?" Zayn leaned back in chair. A smirk formed on his mouth. He fixed his shirt and loudly stabbed a shrimp with his fork. He was messing with them. He was trying to find out which one could break the easiest. His smirk grew. -
Morgan's attention was snagged when the American spoke up, and he quickly sent a glare in his direction before looking back down at his food and eating again. The kid was really beginning to annoy him, but he had to admit, he was a bit curious as to why the General held Leo back after the meeting, but he wasn't curious enough to flat out ask the question. It was obviously important if the General only wanted one kid and no one else to know about it. Despite his feelings, Morgan kept his mouth shut and decided not to say anything. He didn't like getting into someone else arguments, and found it best if he were to just stay out of it and mind his own business. In fact, Morgan thought it would be a good idea of Zayn took a lesson in minding his own goddamn business.
~~~~~~
Ausra couldn't help but look at Zayn when he spoke up. The question he asked was quite intrusive, and back where she was from questions like those were considered punishable. Ausra threw a quick glance at Leo before looking back at Zayn, setting her fork down before moving some of her blonde hair out of her face. "Your instructor obviously didn't kick your ass enough," Ausra said coolly. "Why does it concern you what General Allord spoke with Leo about? If he wanted you to know, he would've told you, now wouldn't he? Learn some goddamn respect and keep your mouth shut. If anything, General Allord was probably telling Leo to keep an eye on you to make sure you stay in line, as so far you've proven to be nothing but a dick." -
Leo thought. He didn't want this to become a disagreement about anything. "Don't worry, he wasn't getting on to me. It was a praise..... I guess. I think so. He told me not to tell and I think I won't. Trust is more important to me, then some stupid American's friendship," Leo rolled his eye's and crossed his arms. He looked at Ausra. He was surprised at how much she stood her ground. She didn't seem like one to argue. "Besides, let's talk about something else. I'm not ready to consider thinking about fighting or who can beat the American's Ass first. I plan on getting to know each and everyone of you. I mean, we'll be depending on each other and that's a lot to ask of a person."
Zayn bit his cheek. "Yeah. Teacher's pet is right. We're all friend's here. Am I right? So, Princess needs to tone her attitude towards people down. I was just asking the Maple tree farmer a question." Zayn thought the last statement was pretty funny. He chuckled to himself and watched them. "You guy's have no sense of humor. I am a very good pleaser with people from where I live." He nodded. He yanked the tail off a shrimp and placed it in his mouth. He was pleased with himself. He wanted these people to hate him. He wanted to seem like a asshat. -
A scoff escaped Morgan's throat as he finally decided to speak up and join the little argument that was going on around between the teens. "Oh yeah, real funny," Morgan said while cracking his knuckles a bit. "Keep telling those and instead of knocking everyone else dead you might just knock yourself dead." With that said, Morgan shrugged and stood up, heading back in line. He personally didn't think that the food was that bad, and he was actually really hungry. The food there didn't fill him up nearly as much as the food back in Ireland. Then again, they were English cooks, so perhaps he got sick of the food there faster than he got sick of the food in America, he didn't know.
~~~~~~
Ausra was about to speak up again until Morgan butted in for her, and then she let herself fall silent, a slight smirk on her face as she turned her attention back to eating her food. It was the first meal she had all day, and the first time she had actually had dinner in five months, so she was going to savor the food. If you looked at her close enough, you could tell that Ausra was pretty under weight, but not enough to be anorexic of anything for that sort, but just underweight. Any type of food she could get her hands on was a blessing. "Well, if we want to know more about each other, let's do a quick Q and A, then. When Morgan gets back, of course."
