Lovino felt a pang of guilt. Antonio was awake worrying about him while he should've been resting. 'I'm okay. You should sleep.' He texted back. 'Hurry up and get better so you can come back to school' he added, sighing and curling up tighter at the sound of Feli yelling downstairs. -

Antonio smiled slightly at the screen, sending back, 'Alright, goodnight amor. Te quiero~' and tossed the phone to the end of his bed. He pulled the covers up over his head, thinking that at the moment he really didn't mind staying home. He was more than willing to sleep through the next three days home. -

Lovino blushed, burying his face in the blankets for a moment. "Stupid," he muttered, feeling his face burn red at the affectionate text. 'sleep well' he sent back quickly, before he could get too embarrassed and take it back. He set his phone on the nightstand and closed his eyes, preparing for a long, lonely three days. -

Antonio took a while to fall asleep with the pain in his head and the apprehension for the next few days, but once he did he slept like a rock. When he woke up he was still under the blanket, but when he came out to see the time it seemed to be early or late afternokn. Had he really slept so long? At least his head didn't spike in pain everytime he moved now. The light didn't hurt as much either, so maybe it wasn't too bad. -

As much as Roma had softened up on Lovino since the accident, he still made Lovino go to school the next day, so he suffeered through a long, lonely day of avoiding Gil and Francis at all costs. When he finally did get home, he was tense and paranoid, every creak in the house was Francis, and Lovino was jumping at quite literally everything, feeling pathetically unprotected without Antonio, who he was quick to text. 'Hey idiota, how do you feel today?' -

It was only about fifteen minutes after Antonio woke up when his phone buzzed, and he practically leapt to check it. He flopped back on the pillows, happy to see that Lovino was back in contact. 'Better, so far. I slept all day. Was school too bad?' He couldn't help but be a little worried with Lovino going without Antonio knowing what was going on there. He was still scared that Gilbert and Francis would use his absence to overpower Lovino more easily. -
ahh mostly yeah ^^ I went swimming and babysat :P You? )
Lovino rolled his eyes at the way Antonio refused to acknowledge the insult, smiling a little. 'It sucks, but that's nothing new. Stayed safe, glad you're feeling better.' He sent back, knowing he was probably worried about Gilbert and Francis, most likely just as on edge as Lovino was. -

Antonio let out a quiet sigh of relief at the next message, glad he hadn't had to ask about Gilbert and Francis. 'Good,' he sent back, 'I was worried I'd have to go teach them a lesson with a concussion. I might see if I can come over tomorrow, is that okay?' He didn't know exactly how it had gone down with Lovino's grandfather, but he didn't want to push his luck. -
aw, yeah. Was the movie good at least? )
Lovino scoffed to himself, stretched out on his bed, half-finished homework spread around him. 'Don't be stupid, don't get hurt again. Come over after school only if you're feeling good enough.' he responded quickly, hoping Antonio wouldn't try to come if he was really unwell. -

Antonio grinned at the phone, responding quickly. 'Hey, I'll be fine. I'm already feeling much better! Don't worry about me.' It wasn't that far to Lovino's house anyways, it wasn't like going to school all day. If luck was on his side he could just sleep through the next day, too, and wake up in time to drive over to Lovino's. -

Lovino sighed and smiled, exasperated but amused. 'Fine, whatever. But if you get hurt I'll kick your ass, got it? Gtg now, stupid homework' he sent back quickly, finally turning to his books. Roma was fine with him dating Antonio, but if his grades started dropping it wouldn't be pretty. -
Sillinae Newbieyeah, at parts xD it wasn't that bad, i'm just squeamish
'Okay, I'll probably go back to sleep. I'll talk to you later.' And with that he tossed the phone back to the end of his bed, before finally forcing himself out of bed. He shuffled downstairs just long enought to get something small to eat and affirm to his brother and mom that he was, indeed, still alive. Then he went back up to his room to crawl back under the covers. -

Lovino ended up working till midnight, trying to catch up on all the schoolwork he'd missed keeping up with Antonio and all the trouble chasing them. When he was finally finished, he sighed in relief, diving under the blankets and sleeping peacefully, thinking of Antonio visiting him tomorrow. Maybe he'd even let the idiota cuddle him again. Maybe. -

Antonio didn't manage to sleep all the way to the next afternoon, but he made it decently close. And besides, after two days of almost no food, he was eager to use the extra time to make up for it. Around the time school ended he sent Lovino a text just to make sure. 'Hey, I'll come over whenever you'd like! My head feels a lot better, so I think I can drive.' -
or just hide under the blanket together XD that's my usual strategy )
Lovino was just getting out of his own car when his phone buzzed. Just as he'd hoped- not that he cared, of course- it was Antonio. 'Now is fine, I just got home.' He replied, deciding that since it was just a short drive over he could wait. He set his backpack on the porch, grabbed a tomato from one of their many ripening plants, and leaned against his car, keeping an eye out for Antonio's car and praying that he really was well enough to drive.
