care_bear19 NoviceXander walked down the path from his house and looked up at Emerson and smiled big. The other boy was in his normal clothing, sweatshirt and sweatpants. Xander wondered slightly how Emerson could looks so good with so little effort. He saw the other boy take off his gloves and scoot forwards a bit. Xander was extremely nervous at how Emerson would react to Xander being a flaming homosexual and didn't want their relationship to go south. Emerson was the only person that he could open up to, he was his best friend. His face stung slightly and he sighed. He saw Emerson look up at him and the confusion and sympathy run across his face instantly.
"Hey Em. Hows it going?" Xander asked with a smile. He examined the details of Emersons face, details he knew by heart since he'd known Emerson since kindergarden. The sun shined on his Icy blue eyes, making them pop against his somewhat messy black hair. -
Emerson's cheeks slightly turned pink as he noticed Xander and he looked down at his motorcycle's grip handles. He threw his helmet back onto his head and grunted in happiness. As much as he wished to explain his infuriation, he shook his head. "Nothing much, what happened to you, though?" he questioned. The worry in his chest was from thinking of the pink mark he had spotted earlier.
He put one foot on a peg in order to balance himself as he waited for a response. He was thankful that it was difficult to see through the protective shield that covered his face on his helmet. Strongly disliking outwardly giving his emotions, he was glad to hide his true worry. As much as he would love for Xander to know how much he cared, he didn't want to destroy the one friendship he had. -
care_bear19 NoviceXander watched as Emerson put on his helmet, sort of wishing to see his eyes again. "My father" he said and looked down at his red sneakers. He wore them because the matched the red button up and black bow tie he had on, but they were a little tight so that might be the last time he wore them. He looked up and Emerson and smiled. "It's nothing" he lied "Ready to go?" he asked.
He heard a loud crashing noise come from the garage and his father's voice spewing curses. Hoping he didn't come outside, Xander turned back to Emerson, slight pleading in his green eyes -
"Oh. An a--hole move, eh?" he replied with a negative tone lining his voice. He gripped one of the bars with his hand, his eyebrows his furrowing in disgust. He understood was the father situation was like, which was actually the reason that his anger was bubbling. Thankfully, he was beginning to calm down, mainly due to being with Xander. The boy was enough to keep him leveled out in most situations.
"Yes, I'm ready. Get on the back so we can go whenever you're ready." He was ready to go. He wanted to take Xander away from the source of the problem. -
care_bear19 NoviceXander nodded and swung his leg over, getting onto the bike, and putting the spare helmet on. He awkwardly wrapped his arms around Emerson's waist and blushed lightly. His stomach filled with butterflies but he passed it off as nerves for the party. Emerson was warm in the chilly weather and Xander moved slightly closer to him. "Alright, lets go" he said.
Xander loved riding with Emerson. He loved the way Emerson relaxed when riding and the wind pushing Xanders hair back. Even though if he tried riding one by himself, he'd probally have a panic attack, he felt safe with Emerson. -
The feeling of the other's arms around him caused for his heart to skip a beat in happiness. His cheeks, underneath his helmet, were burning with embarrassment, shyness, and upset all in one. He wasn't sure why he was so flustered at that point in time, but all was well when he took a few deep breaths in order to level himself out once more. The male checked to make sure everything was in place and in order. He was sure to flick on the radio to his favorite station, 107.3 Rock. It played plenty of his preferred bands and songs.
Thankfully, one of his enjoyable tunes, "Heart-Shaped Box" by Nirvana began to play. He listened to the first few lines at a pretty high volume.
She eyes me like a Pisces when
I am weak...
I've been locked inside your heart shaped box
For weeks...
I've trapped inside your magnet tar
Pit trap...
I wish I could eat your cancer when
You turn black...
With those lyrics, he abruptly took off, turning onto the street and flying on the cycle. He only slowed when he was a goo distance from the house. His music flowed from the motorcycle loudly and with a carefree flare. -
care_bear19 NoviceXander had a huge smile on his face as they rode don the streets. He extended his arm out to feel the breeze before pulling it back. He didn't exactly love metal but had grown to like Nirvana, finding the familiar tune ease his pain. His mind briefly drifted to his father, before flipping them back to Emerson. He could slightly sence that something had been bothering him, due to the speed they were riding and the way hegripped to handles so tightly but opted to wait until later to ask. His cheek wasn't stinging and he hoped to mark was gone, so he wouldn't have to make up another excuse. Truthfully, Xander didn't even feel like going to the party, just hanging out with Emerson, but had promised the host he would go.
He sighed slightly and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. Recently he had been having slight panic attacks, but didn't tell anyone, even Emerson. But he calmed as they rode towards the house, mostly because the other boy was there. -
Emerson laughed as he continued to ride down the various parts of the street. He had memorized the directions to the person's house that they were supposed to be arriving at. Emerson himself wasn't typically a fan of parties or any social gathering, but he was going because Xander had asked him to. The house was close, he was aware of that, but he slowed the speed as to prolong the time before he reached the party. He wasn't sure if there would be alcohol or drugs, and that was a main concern, because knowing himself, he felt that he would be tempted to try them if he got down enough, and then he would end up just like his father.
The song was coming to an end, and some Three Days Grace song blared. He bobbed his head to the background beat with a little bit of an excitement. The band usually pumped him up, made him feel powerful, like he could do anything. He held a wide grin underneath that helmet. -
care_bear19 NoviceXanders face lit up at the sound of Emerson's laugh, so full and rich. It made Xander happy, to know that his friend was okay, was laughing. He smiled as Emerson slowed some, and Three Days Grace came on. He knew the band's songs always got Emerson in a good mood and he silently thanked the music gods for that. He didn't like when Emerson was upset, and sometimes Emerson wouldn't say why, but Xander knew it almost always had to do with the boy's father. He hated that Emerson's father blamed Emerson for his mother's death, because it wasn't his fault. Emerson put on a brave face but Xander could sence that it truly bothered him.
He smiled as Emerson bobbed his head to the music, and surprisingly the words spoke to Xander.
If you feel so angry, so used up, so let down
If you feel so stepped on, so picked on, so pissed off
You're not the only one
Refusing, to go down
You're not the only one
So get up
He smiled lightly and wrapped his arms tighter around Emerson. Even though he didn't feel angry, he rarely did, it reminded him of his father, and how he felt about him. -
The song pumped Emerson up in a way, especially when he could relate to the lyrics in the best way. The song that was playing was "Riot" by Three Days Grace, which was a great song for when he was upset. Every once in a while, when Emerson was really fuming, he would head out to the boxing and MMA club that he had a five-year membership to. He had received this fantastic membership also from his uncle, who was a trainer in the gym.
He saw the house that he was supposed to be going to in order to attend the party. One hand reached for the volume knob in front of him. He absolutely despised making a scene in front of other people. Being so reserved, the male preferred keeping quiet and hiding whatever emotions he held.
Speaking of emotions, he was once again growing annoyed with his father. Before he had exited the home for the party, the older man had grabbed him and pinned him against the wall in a fit of alcoholic rage. He spewed venom by mentioning his mother and how much he hated his son. Emerson was only able to escape by shoving him off and letting him stumble to the floor. Now, he decided to smile in order to keep everything inside.
He pulled over by the house and stopped the engine and radio. "We're here," he mumbled. -
care_bear19 NoviceXander noticed Emerson's irritated nature coming back. He was worried, he knew that Emerson's father was an alcoholic, and hoped he didn't become like his own father. Slight anger flashed through him at the thought of Emerson getting hurt. Emerson was his best friend, and even though Xander wasn't a violent person and rarely got mad, he would do anything to protect the dark haired teen.
He got off the bike and put the helmet on the back. He touvhed Emerson's arm. "Em... what's wrong?" he said, a worried look across his face. Luckily, there was no one out front, so it was just them. Pop music boomed from the house, as well as a girl shrieking and giggling. A large splash could be heard as someone jumped in the pool. Xander realized how much he didn't want to go inside. He switched his focus back to Emerson, waiting for an answer. -
Emerson peeled his helmet off of his head and safety-locked it to the handlebar. He shook his head in a hidden nature. There was no way that he was going to bother Xander with his own, idiotic problems. No other person should have to face what he was supposed to be battling on his own. He bit his tongue in order to hold the outburst back. Maybe he would have a drink or two later on in the day, no one would honestly care.
"It's nothing. I have allergies this time of year and so uh, irritation, you know?" He kicked down the stand for his motorcycle in order to hop off of it. He stood by the bike and pulled off his gloves in a few swift motions. "I promise," he said, crossing his fingers to signify that he meant what he said. -
care_bear19 NoviceXander sighed slightly. "Alright" he said. He knew Emerson was lying through his teeth but didn't want to push him. He didn't understand why the dark haired boy wouldn't just open up to him. Hefigured that maybe if he could get the boy tohave a little fun, maybe that would cheer him up. He smiled lightly. "Alright, let's go then" he said.
He started towards the door, when it flung open and a brunette girl ran down the sidewalk, wrapping her arms around Xander's neck. "Xander!!" she exclaimed with a small shriek "You came!" Xander smiled and wrapped his arms around the girls waist, hugging her back. "Of course I did Mel. I told you I would" he said. He let go and Melanie, reluctantly, let go of him. "This is my best friend, Emerson. Em, this is Melanie" -
omg i played so much basketball and ugghhhh
Emerson only observed this with a slight bubble of jealously popping in the pit of his stomach. He knew Xander and he would never be together, but the sight of seeing him with another person upset him. He hid this with a friendly grin, waving to the girl named Melanie. Other than that, he chose not to say anything as he wasn't comfortable with the person. He usually needed time to get used to people.
He glanced around in order to get a feel of who was around. He didn't enjoy the fact that there were so many people, especially when he didn't know them. But he would pretend that he was okay as to keep Xander happy. That was all he cared about. -
care_bear19 Novice"Hi" Melanie said as she waved back. She drug him off out of earshot of Emerson. "So you're doing it tonight, whe we go in?" she asked tilting her head.
"Yeah, I feel bad I told you before Em but you kinda figured it out" Xnder said rbbing the back of his neck. He really did feel bad fo not telling Emerson first. He wondered if Em would be mad at him for keeping it a secret. He honestly just didn't kno how to tell him, and was scared he would react badly. He knew tht Em would support him, no matter what, but he didn't want the little things to change. He didn't wnt Em to shy away.
"I have a knack for these things. So.. " Melanie started and she glanced over at Emerson. "Anyone caught your eye?" she said as she watched the brunette. Xander assumed Mel liked Em and Xander felt a slight jealous feeling, although he wasn' entirely sure why.
"No. Look I should get back. I'll see ya later, after the annoucement" he said and started toward Emerson.
"Bye" Melanie called and walked off.
Xander was confused. Why did he get so jealous when Mel looke at Emerson? he wondered as he wzlked up to the other teen,
