Cassiel blushed a little at his last remark. He felt his cheeks become even hotter, which he really had wished they didn't. But he couldn't help it. "Oh? I'm glowing? O-oops." He responded, but then continued, "You know, it's not that bad to be nice. And t-thanks, by the way." He blushed a little bit more. The Heavenly figure had changed from self confident and cool, to shy and innocent like. He turned from a beautiful lion to a scared puppy in a matter of an instant.
-
"Yes, it really is that bad. What's it worth? Won't do anything for me in the long run." He noticed Cassiel's face changing color, and became a little concerned. "Why are you red? Did I make you mad or something?" He asked, having only seen such a color on an angry person. "You're confusing. Why are you thanking me?"
-
Cassiel rolled his eyes. "Honestly, sometimes I think you're hopless." He laughed, giving his opposite a playful shove. He then glared around the city, squinting. It had changed quite a bit from the last time he was here. Quite a bit indeed. He wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not yet. "But, othertimes.." He continued, "I just think you're oblivious to the good part of life." He bit his lip a little, "I don't understand you. You think I would, but I don't."
-
Harry looked down when Cassiel shoved him, understanding the playfulness of it, but now why Cas was red withiut being angry. Must be some Heavenly thing. "I am hopeless. Maybe a little oblivious, as well, and that probably contributes to the hopelessness. Also, the fact that I enjoy torture, and lots of other things. You just don't understand me because I'm not like you. Like me, I don't understand you, either."
-
Cassiel smirked a little, "Yeah, we do come from two very different worlds. What a shame.." He trailed off, not letting himself elaborate on the last thought. He looked into the sky for a fraction of a moment, questioning himself a bit. Cassiel decided not to think, though. Now was not the time for deep questions and all that. Now was the time for a conversation with his, er, friend. If you could call it that, he guessed. Heaven was never really sure what to call Harry. Maybe one day he'd question him on the matter, asking what exactly their relationship was. Yes, that would be a bright idea.
-
"A shame indeed." Harry walked for a few more minutes, silent. There was a lot going on in the city, but none of it really interested him. It was just people going to work, or somewhere else. Not really any fighting or anything like that. After a while, he got out a cigarette, lighting it and putting it between his lips. "So, Cassiel, what have you been up to? Anything fun?"
-
"Nothing, really. Just life, I guess. I don't know, gained a new nickname up there." His face contorted to a bit of annoyance. He didn't like the nickname the angels had given him. The male angels, in specific. They really irked him, but he remembered to stay calm. They were annoying, yes, but it's not like Cassiel could do anything about it. He gazed around the large city, unable to keep his eyes off the sky, though. The sky was so blue and pure. It was beautiful- pure. No air traffic, either. Cassiel always thought planes ruined the sky. Gave it such an imperfect look. The sky was so pure, it shouldn't be stained by those annoyances- planes.
-
"A new nickname? What is it?" Hary thought this might be interesting, but it probably wasn't anything funny. He imagined that angels were serious people. Most of his encounters with them was when one of his reapers and an angel got into a fight over a soul, and he had to break it up, so he never saw any other side of them. On the other hand, demons and reapers were idiots and loved to mess with him. They called him Daddy Devil, woke him at at ungodly hours of the morning, left rotten food around his home and otherwise just tortured him.
-
"Cassy." He stated with a disgusted look on his face, "And no, that doesn't mean you can start calling me that." Cassiel knew that it was no use, as he couldn't control Harry. Harry was quite unpredictable. And, in a way, Cassiel liked that about him. It made life interesting. When they were together, life was never a bore. He appreciated it. For living in the same place with the same people for centuries wasn't the most fun. He rather enjoyed Harry's company, for that reason. He was a good change of pace.
-
"Oh, Cassy, you know I can't do that," he hummed, smiling micheviously at Cassiel. "That would be to selfless of me. I like that name, Cassy, it sounds so sweet. Fits right in for you." He did, actually, think that the name fit Cassiel well, as the Heavenly nation was quite innocent, just like the nickname made him sound.
-
Castiel rolled his eyes, "I'm not that sweet.." He objected quietly. He couldn't hide how innocent he was. Or how selfless and confident he was. It was his nature. He thought back to himself in the past years. As a child, he was just as innocent. Probably more innocent. As a teenager, he was wrathful and strict. However, he was fair. Now he was kind hearted and open to new ideas. He was also equality-based and respectful. He wondered if he would ever be like his teenager self again.
-
"Yes, yes you are. It's quite natural for you," Harry said, though he did remember a time when Cassiel wasn't always so sweet, when he was striking down humans with lightning and being overall quite bossy. Harry had always been the troublemaker, the one causing disasters and anger and such. When he was a teenager, his emotions ran high as well, but it a much more violent way. He recalled destroying quite a few cities, and maybe a few hundred species all together. "Nothing wrong with it, though."
-
Cassiel shrugged, "It isn't always so great. I happen to be quite passive and..it's not something I like about myself." He thought about that. He didn't like to be used or walked over. He hated being taken advantage of. It made him angry, but he never seemed to quite do anything about it. This struck a little anger in him- towards himself. He squinted a bit, now looking towards the ground, in shame of his own thoughts.
-
Harry was a little suprised to hear Cassiel say that he didn't like beig sweet, he thought he would have enjoyed it. But, if that's the way he felt, then Harry would be glad to help him rebel a bit. "Then do something not so sweet. There are lots of things you can do, and you probably haven't even tried. It's not like you can get in trouble. Go get laid. Go to a bar. Steal a wallet or something. You don't have to be innocent if you don't want to."
-
"Me? Get laid?" Cassiel broke out laughing. "You're killing me, man. That'll never happen. I'm as old as f---ing dirt and it hasn't happened!" He pointed out, shrugging. "Oh well." Cassiel found all the ideas Harry gave him funny. He couldn't do any of them- his conscience was made to not let him do stuff like that. Not to mention he'd likely be in trouble when he got back to Heaven, and he didn't need any of that. He hated getting yelled at up there. It caused quite a rumble, and he didn't enjoy it too much.
