(When are we gonna get to Oliver being cool with the things)
"I'm sorry. Yes, you're dismissed for the night. Sorry, Oliver." The demon looked away, feeling awful about everything. He wasn't entire sure what had happened, it just sort of... Douglas sighed again and didn't look up until the human was gone. -
(How about Mr.Oliver has a bad dream and Douglas comes to comfort him and then he's cool with things cause cuddles help speed processing and stuff idk)
Oliver left the room rather quickly, hugging himself as he made his way to his room. He pushed open the door and took off everything except his boxers, going over to the closet. Luckily, there was a pair of comfy sweatpants, and when he put them on they didn't shrink down so they were tight which was good. He crawled into the large bed and closed his eyes, falling asleep within moments. -
There was no way he'd be able to do any more work tonight. Douglas stood and left his study, heading off to his bedroom. He wasn't sure what to do, since there was no way he'd sleep that night, but he'd figure out something. Something.
He eventually fell asleep, but it was far too light for him to benefit from it. -
Oliver woke up only about ten minutes after Douglas had fallen asleep, screaming. He was sweating badly from the dream he had just had and was sobbing loudly. He didn't feel any pain in his back as he thought he had in the dream, but it was an awful experience that left him sobbing and rocking back and forth on the bed.
-
Douglas awoke to a piercing scream from down the hallway. His mind instantly rushed to Oliver, thinking of everything a demon might do to the servant of the most disliked figure in the Sivynth aristocracy. He bolted out of bed and down to the servant's room. The demon stepped through the doorway, forgetting that he was wearing close to nothing as he prepared to fight whatever intruder had come into his home. He spread his wings and crept across the room, only to realize that Oliver was completely alone. He folded his wings back in and walked over to the edge of the bee. The room didn't appear disturbed, there clearly hadn't been an intruder. "Oliver, are you alright?" he breathed, hesitant.
-
Oliver had forgotten about the demon being in the same home and was upset he had waken him up. He shook his head quickly, pulling the covers to him tightly. He continued to shake his head, his breathing heavy and tears rolling down his face. "N-not okay, go back to sleep," he said, a choked sob coming out at the end. He was afraid Douglas would be upset with him for waking him up at this time and didn't want to be in trouble with him.
-
Douglas pulled up the sheets a bit, peeking at the human. "Was it just a nightmare?" He silently stroked Oliver's arm, then sat on the edge of the bed. He was hesitant to be this close to the younger, but he didn't seem to be too concerned regarding the events from a few hours prior.
-
Oliver nodded quickly, bringing his hand up to wipe the tears off of his pale face. He felt so small in the large bed shaking like this, the demon there. He sighed, slowly calming down but still a bit on edge after the nightmare. "Can you stay in here for the night p-please?" He asked softly, looking up at the demon through his lashes.
-
"Sure," he replied, crawling under the sheets next to him. For Douglas, sleeping on his back was uncomfortable, because his wings would cramp. Sleeping on his side was awkward too, since his horns would prevent his head from ever really touching the pillow. He endured the awkwardness of his horns for Oliver's sake, reaching over to wipe away some of his tears.
-
Oliver moved as close as he could to the demon, laying his head down against Douglas' chest. It didn't really bother Oliver that he was lying in the bed with the demon so close when only wearing a pair of loose, grey sweatpants. At the time, he just wanted comfort and would accept t from anybody. His breathing became slower after a few minutes and he spoke up. "I know my father's belt more than I know him embrace. It bothers me a lot, and I guess that's what the whole nightmare was about," he said softly against the demon's chest, taking a deep breath. "I know he never cared about my well being and I have grown to be used to it, but it stills hurts.."
-
He wasn't sure what he meant at first, but the moonlight, spilling through the window and onto the two of them, enlightened the demon. Bruises in every stage covered the human's skin. He lifted his hand, which was laying on Oliver's forearm, and discovered a large one hidden beneath it. It was of the dark, fresh sort, a revelation which caused his arms to wrap gingerly around the younger and protect him. His father belonged in hell, forced to be a demon's servant, but not him. Douglas let out a sad sigh, then whispered, "I'm sorry. I am so sorry, Oliver."
If he ever met this human, he'd make sure he didn't survive the encounter. -
He allowed himself to close his eyes and savor the closeness between them. Oliver hated when people pitied him but that was what he wanted at the moment. Attention and pity. He didn't say anything for a few moments and their breathing was the only noise heard. "That's why I am here as your servant, I suppose. I got sick of him treating me like this and I wished to be dead, or at least somewhere else far, far away from the man," he whispered, yet another trail of tears making their way down his face.
-
"I will never let anyone treat you like that, ever again," the demon said, realizing that his companion had finally let him in. "Don't worry about him right now. You're safe." He stretched out a wing and protectively covered Oliver, his tail sliding towards the human's legs.
-
Oliver felt safe in the demon's arms, something he had never thought he would have felt when he entered Hell. It wasn't all torture and misery,he realized, as he snuggled up close to Douglas. "I'm safe.." He said softly, agreeing with what the demon had said. For once in his life he felt safe and at peace, feelings as nothing could harm him.
-
"You're safe," he replied, his arms wrapped comfortably around the human's torso. Eventually the two of them dozed off, Douglas gradually shifting downward in his sleep. His somewhat parted lips pressed against the human's shoulder, and at one point, his teeth gently pressed in a bit to leave a tiny bite mark.
