Name: Adrienne (Ann) Stevens
Age: 17
Looks:
Personality: tough, harsh, somewhat condescending and hateful towards everyone else, not quite snooty, but sharp. Inwardly is very withdrawn, shy, and scared. Likes none of the people she's met so far in life. Is very easily irritated.
Background: Nothing interesting. Lives with her mom after her dad left them for another guy. Is popular because she's so harsh to everyone, and that intrigues people for reasons unknown to her.
I would very much like to not be "it." -
Beautifu~ Mkai ^~^
Landon was sitting at the small dinner table in his father's cellar after school, having a small snack when his father spoke to him for the first time in a year. The tall brunette turned towards Landon, and pointed at the table. "There is an empty chair. Where your mother used to sit. It must be filled. I will make it filled." His father left before Landon could ask him how exactly he was going to fill that seat, so he didn't worry about it. He threw away his orange peels and sat on the couch, listening to his father's car leave the driveway.
Landon's father, Charles, pulled out of the driveway and drove. He drove in a circle around a small town, looking for a special girl to fill that seat he needed filled. There were many girls walking home from school, but all of them were in groups, not alone like he wanted. -
Danke~
Adrienne had just gotten rid of Leslie- that one annoying dumb--- who wouldn't take the hint, no matter what. She finally had to tell the idiot to literally F-off. Ann smiled to herself, remembering the look on the girls face as she walked home. Walking really wasn't the word, though; meandering was more like it. She dreaded going home to her mother, who would undoubtedly give her endless chores and assignments that would keep her up until midnight. Ann had learned long ago to do her homework at the school. She shoved her hands into her pockets and trudged around the corner, shoulders back, and glaring at anyone unfortunate enough to glance her way. -
Landon turned on the flat screen, hoping to find something to watch. For some odd reason, the telly would turn on, but it said there was no cable. "What the..?" Why would my father cut off the cable? Landon thought about everything his father had done in the last week. He had bought several movies and books, turned the guest room into a room that looked like one a girl would live in, and inside the dresser in the guest room, he had put four sweatshirts, all different colors along with four pairs of skinny jeans. Landon was worried about his father. He felt like the loving father he had once known was getting craziest each day.
Charles drove around the town twice until he found the perfect girl he was looking for. She had just walked around the corner and was alone. Making sure there was no one around, Charles parked his van on the side of the road and snuck up behind the girl. When he was only inches away, he grabbed her arm and put one of his hands over her mouth. -
Ann felt a presence behind her and was moving to turn around when a large hand appeared over her mouth. Her first instinct was to scream- which didn't work due to said hand. No one was looking anymore, they kept their gazes to themselves. She struggled as hard as she could, trying to remember every evasive maneuver she picked up over the years. Stepping on his foot- no. Sharp elbow to the stomach- backpack in the way. Jerking her head- his grip was too tight. She abandoned all reason and started flailing like an insane person.

Landon sighed and got up, glancing at the clock. It was almost five o'clock, and his father expected dinner to be ready by seven. Having nothing better to do, he got up and pulled out the potatoes from the cabinet, pulling the skin off and dropping them into the fryer. It made a loud sizzling noise and Landon went back to the couch, satisfied.
Charles pulled the girl backwards towards the van. Taking his hand off her mouth for a second, he opened the back of the van. Since she was quite lightweight, Charles was able to throw the girl in the back of the van quite easily. He shut the back and made sure it was locked, then went back to the drivers seat smiling. -
When the man's hand released from her mouth, Ann had really tried to scream. She was horrified and shocked to realize that her voice didn't work. When tossed, she hit her head on the opposite door of the car and was dazed for a second. The man not yet in the car, she looked around in a heightened panic. Seeing that he locked the back doors, she quickly discarded her backpack, and tried to make her way to the front of the car, where she hoped to escape through the passenger door.
-
When the potatoes were done, Landon started cooking the chicken. Dinner was finished around 6:30, and he began to wonder where his father was and what exactly he was doing. Landon set the table for the two of them, turning on another light. There were no windows or doors in the cellar except for the door on the top of the stairs that led into the house, where his father slept. Landon's room was across from the guest room, a bathroom in between their. The living room and kitchen were homey and warm, the reason Landon spent so much time down in the cellar. Once Landon had the table set, he sat down on the floor in front of the couch and waited for his father to return home.
Charles made sure there was no way for the girl to escape, blocking the back of the van from the front. He started the car and sped off towards the house he and his son lived in, about a half hour away. When he finally reached the large house that was in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by trees, he got out and walked towards the back of the van. -
Realizing there was no escape, Ann curled up into a ball, slowly accepting her fate. She had heard about this happening, but never thought it would happen to her. I'm gonna die.. that's all there is to it. I just have to accept it.. She couldn't stop the thoughts in her head, telling her the worst. She found the smallest, warmest space of the back she could and curled up, not unlike a cat. She tried to calm her breathing, telling herself that it would soon be over.
-
Charles opened the back of the van and pulled out a knife. "If you run or try to fight me off, I will kill you. Got it?" Without waiting for an answer, he climbed into the van and went to the back. Charles hovered over the girl for a second before picking her up like a bride. He shut the van door and began walking towards the house, the knife at the girl's neck.
Landon wasn't glad when he heard his father's van pull up. He was normally abusive towards Landon after work, but he had come home quiet and calm. Now that he had left and come back, Landon was sure he was going to be in a bad mood. He got up from the floor and made sure the way he had set the table was perfect. -
Ann had nodded a little at the man's question, not knowing if he would rage at her lack of response. She had remained curled up the entire time, even when in his arms. She obviously did not curl into him, but kept to herself, trying to put as much distance between the two of them as she could. The comfort of her backpack gone, she felt very out of place. "Please let me go. I don't have anything... Please..!" She begged.
-
Charles laughed softly, and opened the door to his house with his free hand. While closing the door he said, "I don't want items. I want you. You're part of my family now." He took a key out of his pocket and unlocked the cellar door. He walked down the stairs slowly and stopped at the foot of them.
He turned around a put on a fake smile on his face for his father. Landon gasped when he saw the girl in his arms. He rushed over to the girl to help her if she was hurt, but Charles shoved Landon with his free hand, making his son fall to the ground. Landon eyes widened when he saw the knife at the ggirl's neck. Holding his now bleeding head, Landon stared at his father. Charles threw the girl down on the couch and went back up the stairs. He stopped at the cellar door. "I'll be done for dinner at eight tonight." He then left the cellar, locking the door behind him. -
Ann was shaking the entire time. Nothing could stop that; she wasn't cold, she was scared. After hitting the couch, she crumpled into her little ball again, hiding her face in her own lap, and contemplating Charles' words "I want you." Not yet having seen Landon, she took a deep shaky breath and tried not to cry.
