(fixing the post order lol) -
Archie felt bad for the hybrid. Even he knew how terrible it was to ride an elevator- he had gotten stuck in one when he was little, and in movies they always stopped and fell from great heights. They really did scare him. But he was trying to get Charlie help, and he doubted the cat would ever ride the elevator again if he said what he was thinking. Pressing one of the buttons to '6' upon entering, he moved to be beside Charlie.
"I'm sorry, I know this is all a bit confusing for you," Archie said softly. "And you can't respond to me, which makes it even worse." -
Feet shuffling with discomfort, the hybrid looked over at Archie, giving him a look up and down. He wasn't so nervous, it didn't seem, or at least not so jittery as Charlie was. So he tried to calm down a little, looking forward at the doors to look at his reflection. He saw it, and even though he seen his reflection in mirrors before, it still intrigued him.
Cooing, he leaned forward, touching his fingers on the metallic door that reflected the touch back to him. As his eyes widened with interest and he placed both hands on the slabs of metallic sheen, they suddenly started sliding open again, and he jumped backwards, turning to cling to Archie in surprise. -
During the ride, Archie had his eyes locked on the hybrid. He couldn't help it; The other was very intriguing. He had to stifle a laugh when he saw him reach out to the door and it slid open. The boy was too curious, he noticed, and he'd have to make sure to take extra special care of him.
"You're okay," Archie cooed at him, patting his head as he reached out to touch a button to keep the door open. "We can exit now. We're on the correct floor. Was that too scary?" -
Charlie was glad to hear that the metal slabs opening weren't his fault at all. He nodded, though, having decided that he definitely had not enjoyed the trip on the elevator. All too eagerly, he slipped away from Archie, hurrying out of the elevator's cramped quarters.

Archie felt a bit sad as the hybrid pulled away, but that didn't matter. He rushed after the person in a hurry, determined not to be left behind. He was the one who knew where Milo's apartment was, after all, and he did need to show the cat who was boss. His thoughts were interrupted when he bumped into Charlie. He jumped back, his hands flying out to catch him in case of an accident. "Sorry," he muttered. -

Charlie had stopped walking, having gotten distracted by one of the shiny silver plates next to a door. He was tapping his fingers on it when he was bumped into, and he jumped, eyes going wide. In the moment of sheer panic, he saw Archie reaching towards him, and took it as more than a bit threatening. His ears flattened against his head, and he hissed, glowering at the hands. -

The raven haired man instantly jumped back at the sight of Charlie in an almost threatening position. He hadn't meant to bump into the hybrid, and he had even tried to keep him from falling over. An image of Charlie squishing himself against the wall in the alley reminded him of Charlie's fear of being touched. "Calm down, kitty. I didn't mean to.. You took off and I was trying to make sure I didn't lose you." With a little sigh, he pulled his hands away, holding them up. "See? Now I can't touch you. Calm down." -

Sinking back towards the wall, Charlie realized his mistake in thinking that Archie was going to grab him. He felt it wasn't nice to be so shaky around someone who had hardly given him reason to be that way. With a mew, he tilted his head in apology, looking at Archie for the man's instruction on where to go then.
