It had turned out to be a bad idea to run away.
Charlie wasn't sure where he was going. Weeks ago, he'd watched as the only other hybrid in the labratory managed to escape by crawling out of a window. But Charlie'd been too nervous to go for himself, and after a while he decided he should try it for himself. He'd followed in the steps of the last hybrid that had escaped, by stacking a chair under the window and climbing out in the middle of the night. With his tail tucked into his pants, he went sprinting away from the building, barefooted.
But it had been a few hours since then, and the sun was starting to come up, and he still didn't know where to go. The biggest problem was that he'd never stepped out of the laboratory before for more than a few minutes, and so everything was rather foreign to him. The cars that buzzed around the streets were the worst part- he knew what they were, but they were going so fast and it scared him to cross any streets.
By the time the sun was starting to come around the edges of buildings, Charlie was finding himself standing along the sidewalk of three long, brown buildings. Deciding he needed somewhere to sit down and hide, he searched until he reached an alley between the first two buildings. He hurried deep into the back of it, and sat in the corner. -
that would have made me sad omg

which is why it's Archie and not Archer
Archie walked lazily down the street as he reached into the grocery bag and pulled out the Coke he had bought just a few moments ago. He let out a soft sigh as the cool drink went down his throat, soothing the dryness of it that had caused him to go in the first place. See, the boy had fresh water in his apartment, but he hated it. It was tasteless, and it never really helped as much as he would have liked it to. So, here he was, walking down the street late into the afternoon with two bags full of junk food and a case of soda.
As he neared the apartment building, he found himself peering through every little alleyway there was between buildings. Normally, he tried to get home as fast as possible, but there was an urge to look there. Maybe he'd find something valuable inside one of those alleyways. Though, all of them seemed to hold nothing special, and Archie found himself getting bored. He recalled the day that his friend found that dog hybrid in the alleyway between two buildings before the apartment. The first time he had met the hybrid, he thought it was kinda cute. But as soon as he realized it was a stupid thing, he didn't really want anything to do with it. When it learned to speak, it got too loud, and Archie couldn't stand loud things. -
and sorry I was typing this and I'm doing other things too little Mia train ouo

Good good
Don't worry mia train is just bored
Charlie thought he heard someone walking, and he knew it for sure when each step was paired with the sound of an ever-nearing rustle. It sounded vaguely like the crinkly bags the scientist, Dr. Ghild, would give him food from. At first, his ears perked up, because his first thought was that it was food. Then, he thought it might be the scientist, the one who was so mean and, well, fed him gross food from crinkly bags. The hybrid pressed his back against the corner, staring wide-eyed at the opening at the end of the alley to see if the scientist was really on his way to get him.
He made no move to run, though. If it wasn't the scientist, Charlie feared something even worse might happen. If he tried to run out, he might bump into someone else, and Dr. Ghild had once warned him of why he shouldn't try to run away. The man had told him that other people would be scared of him, or hate him, because his ears and tail weren't normal. At first, Charlie had dismissed it, but now that he was presented with a situation where it might happened, he was frozen in fear. -
Pshhhhhhhhh I have time

As the crinkly bag sound got closer, Charlie decided that whether it was Dr. Ghild or not, he wasn't going to stay a sitting duck anymore, to just be victimized. He jumped up, making a brave dash out of the alleyway.
As he did so, he realized he hadn't really thought about how close the crinkly bag sound had gotten, because he ran bumped right into it. After a flurry of him hissing at the person with the crinkly bag, his ears flattening against his head, and then him rapidly and nervously walking backwards, he hurried back into the alleyway. -

anyways, who's gonna be Archie's good 'ole friend with the irritating dog? ouo Want me to be the dog hybrid and you be the friend or something?
Archie was being an innocent citizen when it happened. One moment, he was walking, and he had gotten to an alleyway opening, and then the next, someone was running into him. The startled boy tripped, barely catching himself as he saw the person run into the alley. He wasn't sure whether to be angry, or curious. Because, as weird as it sounded to him, he could have sworn he heard the person hiss at him. And weren't those animal ears on the person's head?
Cautiously, the raven haired boy started to walk into the alley. He heard his own steps rebound off of the walls into his ears. It wasn't very big, and soon he found himself nearing the back. It took him a minute to see that there was a shape there, and as he got closer, he recognized it as a person. Feeling slightly victorious that he had found his "attacker", he walked closer, the bag in front of him as a safe guard. He didn't realize how bad the situation would be for him until his feet were only an inch away from the person.
"No f---ing way," Artie muttered under his breath. "Another one.." It had only taken him a moment to recognize those fuzzy cat ears- his friend, after all, had a dog hybrid. And the person- probably a boy- wasn't a cosplayer. He wasn't sure what to do. Maybe, just maybe, his friend would want this hybrid too. "Hey.. Are you, ah, okay?" -

sure thing~ just the dog hybrid, since he's already been there for a while, he'd be pretty fluent at talking by then :P
In the few seconds that he had between running away and the person walking to him, Charlie was thinking that if he hadn't gotten up the person may have not even noticed him. It was definitely not Doctor Ghild, it was just a random stranger who could potentially do even worse things to him than the scientists. As the foot steps drew near, Charlie sunk to the ground, pulling his knees up and tucking his arms behind his thighs.
When the person approahed him, and started asking him questions, Charlie felt that maybe the man hadn't noticed his ears yet since he didn't seem scared. The cat hybrid reached up shakily, brushing his hands through his hair and holding his palm on top of his head to hold a clump of hair over his ears. He opened his mouth, trying to force air out in a logical way. "E-eh-ee-", he sunk lower, realizing his mistake at trying to sound like he could speak. He shut his mouth, biting his lip and averting his gaze from the stranger. -

no Mia just no
here have the dorky dog hybrid, I felt the need to make a thing for him
Name: Ricky
Age: 16
Appearance:
Personality: Before Ricky was found, he was extremely quiet and didn't like speaking because he hadn't been taught to speak. He liked being with Charlie, the cat that had been with him, and so learned to bark whenever pleased. After being found by Archie's friend, however, he was soon found chatting up a storm. He can't help barking between some sentences, but for the most part, he's gotten smarter and feels safer around people. He's a bit of a dork, though. He'll believe anything and everything still, despite being told not to trust everyone from Archie.
Archie couldn't help but chuckle at the hybrid's attempt to hide his ears. Even though he was trying his best to look normal, it was a bit of a fail. He was going to point out that he had seen the ears when the cat hybrid let out odd noises. Archie, who wasn't a fan of loud noises, groaned as he heard a sort of wheeze escape the cat's mouth. They were similar to what Ricky had muttered out when he was first found. Just noises, like hissing or choking, but not quite. They weren't too loud, but they were loud enough to irritate the boy.
"Okay, okay. I hope you understand me, even if you can't talk to me. I'm Archie. A-r-c-h-i-e. When you learn how to speak, you can call me Arch. That's A-r-c-h. Archie without that ie," he found himself talking to the stranger. "For your information, I saw those. Those fuzzy little ears of yours. Don't worry, I'm used to them. Sort of.. Anyways. Why don't you stand up, and come with me? I have a friend who has someone.. Like you. Maybe he'll want another one, I dunno."
Archie held out his hand, the grocery bags sliding down to his wrist. He wasn't sure what he would do if his friend didn't want to take the hybrid. Either way, Archie knew better than to leave someone out in an alley. Especially a hybrid, where humans who might think of him as someone worth putting in a zoo would find him. "I'll take you home and feed you, first. If you'll allow me. If you know what that means.."
