"I don't want any of that," She murmured, keeping her eyes on the ground as they passed Thomas' house. "I don't want to go on your ship. I hate the ocean. Just.. Let me go, please."
-
He smirked and tugged her arm closer to him. "Trust me, you'll love it." He said, almost whispering into her ear. "Oh, and there's another woman on deck, so I'm hoping you two can at least be acquaintances." He said. A few other men were already headed to the ship, arms full of jewelry, food, even some livestock. "Damn it... Forgot to tell them to only get chickens, but pigs will do." He muttered.
-
She jerked her head away from him, sending him a glare. Already, Janette hated this man. She wanted nothing more than to stomp on his foot and run off, and she would, if it weren't for the sword strapped to his hip. For now, she would just have to bid her time, and play nice. So, she decided to ask him a few things. "Will I be staying in your quarters? By your dress, I'm assuming you're a captain. Am I right? What's your name?"
-
He merely glanced at her as he slowed his pace to a fast walk. "I actually think you'll like my room better than the rest of 'em. And yes, I do happen to be the Captain, son of the once great captain Carney." He scanned the area as more men began to head towards the ship. "My name? It' s Philip. Oh, also, now don't try anything. Or I'll slash your wrist and won't feed you for a week." He looked down at her.
-
"I don't think I'll try anything, though I hope you know I'm not going to put out for a man like you," She retorted, glancing at the ship they were approaching. "But really, I don't like ships. I get sea sick. Are you sure you wouldn't prefer someone else?"
-
He grinned. "Great." It seemed that most of the men were already headed or in the ship. "Oh, don't about getting sea sick. It's like a phase; you'll get over it." As they arrived he looked up and called out. "Micheal, hey Micheal! Could I have a hand?" He immediately pooped his head over the side of the boat, and looked between the two. "Ah, I see you found a nice one." Philip narrowed his eyes. "Just give me a hand, you twit." Micheal gulped and nodded. "Help me get Janette up, will you." He said, already grabbing her waist.
-
Janette narrowed her eyes at his hands, but stayed silent, reaching up towards the man on the boat. She disliked the idea of going aboard, but she knew that soon she would have a chance to kill the captain, and get away, at the next dock if at all possible.
-
Don't worry** popped***
-
"Your as light as a feather." He said getting ready to climb the boat. He eyed the crooks and crevices carefully before jumping up and placing his hands in two notches, and keeping his one boot planted in a crack. He scaled up the rest of the way with ease from years of practice. "On to my room." He said cheerfully as he grabbed her arm.
-
Getting her balance once on the deck, Janette snatched her arm away from the man, placing her hands on her hips. "I can walk on my own, thank you. Lead the way, pirate." She didn't want to say his name. It tasted vile in her mouth, made her remember the blood he had drawn from her parents.
-
He raised an eyebrow and shrugged. "Very well then. It's just this way." Eric ran up to Philip, mid stride. "Sir, we've collected quite a bit, well, more than that, but-" Philip held up a finger. "Another time Eric, we have a new member. She won't be doin' work tho, but unless... Nevermore that. Get the men together, give the livestock to Matilda, and don't get too drunk during celebration later." He said with a wink. As he opened the door to the room, Philip stepped aside for Janette. "Ladies first."
-
"Do your men all have such bad manners?" She walked past him, glancing around the room, quickly deciding to sit on the bed. Glad that she had changed out of the purple dress earlier, she fiddles with the hem of one of her sleeves. She regretted not taking a bath the night before, and, knowing that she couldn't stand to be dirty, quickly asked, "Will I be able to bathe soon?"
-
Nevermind* my autocorrect sucks ;-;)
He closed the door behind him, and started spinning his globe slowly. "Bad manners? Manners are not such a thing on this ship." He let his gaze drift to her, then back to the globe as Europe passed his fingers. "Hmm, I suppose you could bathe tonight. We have some clean water left, and Matilda should have some clean rags in her room." He tapped the slight stubble on his chin. "I'll be back in an hour or so. And don't touch my belongings, or else." He said getting a lock from his pocket out. -
Janette was about to ask if she would have any soap to bathe in when she noticed the item in his hand. "You're locking me in? Like a prisoner? Why can't I come with you?" She didn't like the idea of being left to her own on a ship full of pirates, men who rapped and killed. And though she didn't like Philip, at least he hadn't hurt her yet.
