"I really, really love you." he murmured. He knew Antonio had said no kissing, but he couldn't help but press a quick kiss to his knuckles. "If I could, I'd ask you to marry me. And I'd stop the circus somewhere for good. We'd have a permanent show, a...a home. And a family. And..." Lovino's little fantasy was never finished, as he was asleep again before he could say any more.

Antonio was a little glad that Lovino fell asleep so quickly, because he wouldn't have to see how sad Antonio was that they couldn't do these things. The Spaniard held a little smile, but he was definitely saddened, and he sighed, closing his eyes to go back to sleep.

Lovino slept deeply this time, curled up comfortably under the blankets. Once or twice, he grew a bit too hot or cold, but nowhere near as severe as it had been. He didn't stir until late the next morning. The carriages were rumbling, which meant the circus was on the move again.

Antonio had actually gotten up once or twice since then, just to check on Lovino's temperature to make sure he was doing alright. When the Italian woke up, though, Antonio was again asleep, huddled under the covers next to him.

Lovino, who was feeling well rested but still a little dizzy, stayed quiet. He was cold again, so he wiggled under one of Antonio's arms, snuggling into the warmth of his chest. The conversation from earlier struck him, and he silently wondered if there was anyway to make it a reality.

Antonio was breathing softly, sleeping soundly, until he felt Lovino sneek under one of his arms. He yawned, and hugged the Italian, but his eyes didn't open. "Buenas dias, Lovino."

"Mm cold." he muttered, offering an explanation for why he was so closely pressed against Antonio. "...Hey, Tonio?" he asked suddenly, deciding that he would find a way to give them a happy future.

Antonio didn't like speaking english when it wasn't really needed, or when it was early in the morning, so he just continued on with Spanish. "Si?" He asked, nuzzling and kissing the top of Lovino's head. "Que es?"

Lovino swallowed nervously. He had no idea how Antonio might react to what he was about to say. One hand felt his pocket, where his grandfather's rings always were. He took a deep breath and looked up at Antonio. "Marry me."

This woke Antonio up a little bit, and he looked down at Lovino with sleep in his eyes. "Marry you?" He repeated, eyebrows furrowed. "I'd love to Lovino, you know that, but we can't get married."

Lovino looked up at him, eyes swimming with tears. "W-We could, though. Y-You don't have to wear a ring. I've got money, I know people who've bribed priests to marry couples like us, it could happen," he said, though it was more like pleading.

Antonio looked down at him, frowning at the tears that he saw pooling. "Don't cry, Lovi... We can talk about it, but it could be dangerous. What if a priest tells on us, hm? That wouldn't be good."

Lovino blinked rapidly, his heart sinking as the idea was quickly shut down. "...Y-Yeah. That...That was a stupid idea anyway, I'm sorry." he mumbled, biting his and trying not to cry. In a circus he'd been trapped in his whole life, he'd finally managed to find something he loved. Now all he wanted was to be sure they would always be together, but even Antonio didn't agree.

Antonio was afraid of being caught, but also extremely unfond of seeing Lovino so upset. He whined a little, before shaking his head. "No, no, no," he said, pressing kiss after kiss to Lovino's head. "You know, I've heard that in other countries, ones across the ocean, we'd be allowed to get married. In America, maybe, we could make a new circus there."

Lovino closed his eyes. "Do you really think we could?" he sighed. "America...it's so far. Traveling would be expensive, but we could manage, we could get a permanent location..." he blinked his tears away, reaching into his pocket and pressing the simple golden band into Antonio's hand. "Here's for maybe." he murmured,smiling gently.
