"I'm not sure." Joseph replied, feeling as if she wanted to do something in particular. "What about you?"
-
Astoria laughed as she thought about things to do. "Maybe we should go down a dark ally and walk around," Astoria joked, though it didn't sound like a joke.
-
"Sounds like loads of fun!" Joseph said, a little humor in his voice, but nit much. "I honestly don't know here..." he said, trying his best to sound confused.
-
Astoria laughed, now taking her joke a little more seriously. "Maybe we should though," Astoria says. "it's not like something bad is going to happen anyways, the city's perfect here!"
-
"No offense, but I hate people using the word 'perfect', because really nothing's perfect...right?" Joseph really was confused now, and his give-away that he's confused is that he'd rub the back of his neck, which it wasn't long before he found himself doing so. "But," he said in kind of a weird way, "if you want to we could." and with that, he shrugged.
-
Astoria agreed with with Joseph that the city wasn't perfect, but she didn't state these opinions out loud though. "Alright, lets go then!" she cheered while jogging ahead of him onto the streets.
-
"Hey wait for me!" Joseph hollered as he tried to catch up with her. He had grown a little tired from the walk over here, and looking for Astoria, so it was harder than normal for him to keep that pace.
-
back for a while))
Astoria slowed down just a little to let Joseph catch up with her. "Which one looks the darkest and creepiest?" she questioned him as she began to walk instead of jog. -
As Joseph caught up, breathing shallowly, he said, "I don't knoow...maybe that one?" he pointed to an alley between two buildings that looked like they hadn'tbeen mmaintained in years. "Wow, this city must not be that perfect or...wait did I just hear somethinggg...?"
-
Astoria, in fact, heard that same noise. "It's coming from that same alley..." she whispered. Astoria listened even more closely and though the sounds of people talking and the cars on the street she heard fighting. "Sounds like someone's in trouble!" she explains. "Come on!" Astoria then begins to make her way into the old dusty, alley.
-
"Hmm it does sound...-hey!" Josrph said as he followed Astoria into the alley. "When he caught up to her, he whispered: "it is fighting; I have no idea how I know but I do..." in a low, crackly voice.
-
"Shh, let's just be quiet and sneak up on them," Astoria whispered. She crouched down way low and she peered around the corner. There she saw two men, one much older than the other. One seemed to be only sixteen or seventeen, the other in their forties. The teen had a hood on and Astoria couldn't see his face, but she did see the glint of something shiny in his hands; like a knife. "What... what's going on?" she questioned Joseph.
-
"I think...I'm not sure but I think the older guy I like...I don't know..." Joseph whispered as softly as he ever had before. Joseph thought he saw the teen see him, but Joseph wwasn't really sure.
-
Astoria knew the two were talking but she couldn't hear what they were saying and it was making her mad. Then, her anger was replaced with fear as the teen pushed the knife into the older mans chest. Astoria covered her mouth and she took a few steps backwards away from the alley. "He, he, he killed him!" Astoria stutters.
-
"ssshhhh!" Joseph hushed both as quietly and loudly as he could. "You want that happening to you? I believe the term for that is murder, but we gotta get out of here, now "
