He nodded in understanding. "Seeing how you would handle breeding. Disgusting animals those scientist were..." he looked at her. "You didn't meet a woman named Zoey did you? The only woman in the facility?"

She nodded, agreeing with him. When he asked about the woman she shook her head. "I don't think so." She bit her lip, trying to remember. "I remember a woman, but I didn't know her well, I only saw her a few times..."

"Damn it...she was the only nice human there..." he looked up at her. "You look like her you know. I almost mistook you for Zoey and about asked you what happened." He sighed. "Then I noticed you were younger than her and I decided to still meow."

Saphirre listened carefully. "Oh...sorry to disappoint you." She said apologetically, stroking his head. "At least we're both away from that place now."

He purred and nuzzled her hand. "Indeed, but Zoey must miss me..." he looked at her again. "You are a spitting image of her, did they ever tell you who they got your genetics from?"

She kept stroking him and shook her head. "No, they didn't tell me much of anything." Her eyes widened. "Do you really think...would they do that?"

"Zoey was the only female there and all those men at that place probably did take an egg from her, mixed it with one of the male's dna with it and along with the bird dna and came up with you." He sighed and shook his head. "Poor Zoey..."

Saphirre frowned. "That's terrible. To think they would do that to someone..." But she didn't find it hard to believe.

"And Zoey probably doesn't know. Daniel will protect you though, he's not one to let go of someone when he's told to." He chuckled lightly, but it sounded like a wheeze.

She nodded. "Right." She glanced at where Erin had disappeared to. "Does Erin know where you came from?"

He nodded. "She's the first one who figured out I could talk." He heard Erin's door open and she walked out, looking a bit pale and ran to the bathroom. Coughs and the sound of her throwing up was apparent through the door. He sighed lightly. "She forgot to take her medicine this morning."

Saphirre rose quickly, looking concerned. She ran to bathroom and hovered in the doorway nervously. "...Erin?" She glanced back at Ron nervously. "Can I help her..?"

Erin's voice came over through the door. "I-I'm okay. Don't m-mind me." More coughing came after that. Ron shook his head. "She'll be fine in an hour. She won't take her pills so Daniel usually has to force her."

Saphirre glanced a little stubbornly at Ron. "Where are the pills?" She looked worriedly back at Erin.

Ron pointed to her room. "It's in her book bag in the left pocket. Give her one pill." He sighed lightly, hoping she would get Erin to take her pills...and hoped she wouldn't be shocked at what she would see.
