When he was certain he had a good hold on the cat, Fall stood up, grinning widely. He was shaky on his feet, probably a product of the adrenaline. His head was light, but he'd made his catch. He'd figure out exactly what it was he'd caught later.
"There now, wouldn't this have been so much easier if you'd just behaved from the start?" he cooed, starting off back toward his caravan as if nothing had happened with a mean smile at the boy/cat/witch/mutant/whatever it was. -
(xD Witch is an accurate term)
Ginji, being a cat, just proceeded to stare. He'd lost his furious growling, snarling attitude and had reverted to a very cat-like indifferent and superior attitude. -
(I know. >:3)
By the time Fall got to the point he was meant to have met the caravan at, he could tell he was f---ed. While the cat had calmed down, making travel considerably easier and generally quicker, he'd still managed to be about forty-five minutes late. His superiors were going to have a f---ing cow.
He tightened his grip on the cat's legs as he waded into the human traffic that was his team. The merchants glared at him as he passed, all well aware of exactly what they'd been held up for.
He came to rest in front of the cart his overseer ran, glaring down at the cat- idiot. It was his fault they'd been held up, not Fall's- and waited.
The man pushed his way out from the canvas that covered the back of the cart, already looking irritated, and paused when he noticed Fall. His face darkened immediately.
"Fall. I've got some words for you, boy." -
Ginji meowed in annoyance, glaring at his captor. His legs were hurting from the grip and cat don't like being uncomfortable.
-
His overseer paused in his oncoming lecture, blinking and glancing down at the cat.
"Fall. Tell me you didn't f--- our schedule up by forty-five minutes just to catch this cat."
Fall followed his gaze and looked at the cat.
"I know what this looks like, Mr. Leich, but this is a job. Not a cat. He was a guy when I tarted tailing him."
Leich flicked his questioning eyes up to meet Falls.
"He was a guy?"
"He was a guy."
There was a pause.
"That's a cat."
"He was a guy before and now he's a cat." -
(dammit Fall stop chasing cats.:P)
Ginji rolled his eyes, meowing again. He didn't know why he did it that time. Maybe to remind them he was still there? The longer he was a cat, the less things made sense to him. -
(hehe x3)
Fall gave the cat one violent shake the shut it up.
"Shut up, kitty."
Leich looked incredibly concerned at this point. How annoying.
"Have a little faith in me, will you? I've never been wrong before. I'm not crazy."
He rolled his eyes.
Leich raised his hands in submission to his argument.
"I believe you, really. Find a cage and stick the cat in it if you want."
Fall snorted.
"I will." -
Ginji growled deep in his throat again, but didn't meow. His tail twitched in major annoyance.
-
Fall took the cat with him as he headed toward the heavy cart where the cages were kept. He muttered darkly to himself as he went, weaving through the crowd, mostly about Leich's inability to grasp the concept of a shapeshifter.
"You're not gonna make me look like a crazy person." he hissed at the cat. He stopped next to the cart- which took eight horses to haul and GOD what a pain in the ass they were to maintain-, pulling back the canvas that shrouded the cages and looking over their stock. There were a lot of reptilian beings here, a few that looked human, some crosses between human and insect, a horse- he couldn't explain how that had happened if he tried- and a rock. That one was even harder to explain.
He found an unoccupied cage, just a few times bigger than the cat itself- he would probably be human again at some point anyway, and having all his bones crushed would not make him helpful to the merchants- opened it up, and shoved the cat inside, closing the barred door behind it. -
Ginji leapt at the cage door, hissing and spitting. He growled, wanting nothing more than to rip out this guy's throat.
-
Fall smiled at the cat, lying with his back against the wall of the cart. He wanted to be there when the cat became human again. The cart pulled up and jostled he and the cages around as it started off with him in the back. He could only hope the cages were properly secured this time. He'd broken an arm once here. It sucked.
He sighed, his chest heaving in relief. He'd gotten out of a lecture by disappearing onto the cart. He grinned to himself and poked a finger at the cat. -
Ginji snapped at the other, then yelped as the cage was bounced with the cart, knocking him off his feet.
Ironically, at that moment, his form grew and became his human self again.
He scowled. "Great timing, dammit." -
The movement jerked Fall into a large cage containing a monstrous looking thing with a fin. The thing reared back and snarled at him, pressing it's open jaws against the bars of the cage. He returned the snarl and pushed off of the cage, settling back against the wall of the cart.
He growled to himself, then looked over at the boy in the cage.
"Oh, look who's back."
He stood up and leaned over the edge of the cart.
"Hey, Mr. Leich! He's a guy again!" he called loudly. There was no response at first, but a man came soon appeared beside the cart he was riding in, speed-walking to keep up with it.
"He grunted at you." he said with a snarky grin.
"Did you just run all the way back here to tell me he grunted at me?"
"So?"
"f---ing lame."
Fall sat back down again, crossing his arms irritably. -
"Who the hell are you? And why the hell am I in a damned cage?" He hissed, glancing at the other cages in equal parts annoyance and fear.
-
Fall rolled his eyes, spinning his hand slowly to enunciate his boredom in regard to the topic at hand.
"My name is Fall and you're in a damned cage because I put you in it."
He yawned, stretching his arms out.
