She frowned for a few moments then tried to say it back to him, getting tongue tied in the process. A sad look appeared on her face and she looked down at the floor board of the vehicle.

"You're doing better than I did with English. I couldn't blend letters with H. And your alphabet... that was weird." He smiled at her.

"Because...for some countries on my planet English is the hardest language to learn. We don't...spell things by the way they sound. And our alphabet is easy." She looked up and smiled at him.

He shook his head. "Your alphabet was what really got me. My handwriting is still awful because of how complicated your little symbols are."

She laughed lightly. "Then I'll teach you. Since you're teaching me I'll help teach you, it's a win win situation."

"Great," he said, smiling faintly. The drive was quick, and they were back at his house in a short amount of time.

She uncurled her legs from under her and opened the passenger door carefully when he stopped in his driveway. It was starting to get dark. "wow...we were out a long time."

He got out as well, and nodded. "You must be tired." He retrieved their purchases from the back of the vehicle.

She shook her head no. "No...not really, exhausted yes, tired not really."

"Would you rather just go to bed?" He walked up to the door and unlocked it, then waited for her to join him.

She got to the door and looked at him. "What trying to make me go to bed?" She stuck her tongue out at him. "Not gonna happen."

He smiled at her. "No, I just thought you might learn better after resting." He closed the door, put the bags in her room, and returned to her. "What would you like to start with?"

She shrugged. "The simplest thing you can think of." She smiled lightly.

"Come with me, then." He went to his room and pulled a box out from under his bed. It held the simpler books he had in case he had to foster for more than a few days.

She followed him and looked around his room before she almost ran into him. Then she saw the box and looked at it curiously. "So...teaching me from books?" She grinned a bit.
