"Um...Well, I did have a question."

"What is it?" Adrian asked. Finished washing his hands, he walked over and sat in front of her.

"It was just, earlier you mentioned that I'd be the only one because..Well, some people were killed." She said the last part quickly.

"I did? Oh, right. I did." He sighed. "I really don't want to explain, but I didn't kill them, and the person who did doesn't have any interest in me or anyone here anymore. You're safe, if that's what you wanted to know. That's all I want to say."

She sighed in relief. That was a weight of her shoulder.
"Oh, okay. Good." -
He nodded. "I'm sorry for worrying you with that."

"It's fine."

He suddenly remembered the list. "Oh, by the way, I have a few things I'd like help with around here, tomorrow."

"Alright." She nodded.

"Especially the library. And the second floor. I made a list of everything." He tapped his singers against the table out of habit.

"Can I see this list?" She asked.

"Sure. I'll be right back." He stood and left, and came back five minutes later. He handed it to here. "I'll help you, of course."

She hadn't expected that. She took the list and looked it over.
"Alright.." -
"It won't be too hard..." Adrian muttered.
