Miri stood there a second longer, listening to his footsteps recede.
She then glanced around the room one more time, trying to figure out why she'd agreed to this.
Mary would've been much better at this then her. Mary knew what she was doing. Miri..Well, she was a clumsy, both with actions and words. -
Once he reached his study, he sat down in his chair and turned to the desk where a stack of books waited. Miss Mason was gorgeous.
-
She finally sighed, and sat down on the bed, staring out the window.
What had he meant about killed? That still bothered her. She stood up, and walked over to the window. The view was pretty, with the garden right out beneath the window. -
She had seemed worried about the fate of the previous servants, though... He figured he'd explain it eventually.
-
Miri finally stood up, stretching and walked out of the room, glancing down the hall. She wasn't to disturb him, so she decided to just go out and quickly check on Snowdrift.
She started out, glancing at every thing as she passed. The inside was like the mirror opposite of the outside. She figured she could straighten it all up, but at the moment she was too nervous to do much. -
Before he got back into his books, he figured he'd make a list of everything he wanted help with. He grabbed a pen and a sheet of paper and started writing.
-
When she got out to the stable, she quickly went to Snowdrift, patting the mare's neck.
"Guess this is where we'll be now. You don't mind it, do you?" Miri asked.
The horse just glanced down at her, then nudged her with its head gently.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Miri giggled, calming down quickly. "You want private time or something?" -
The floors would definitely need to be scrubbed, as would the windows... the fireplaces needed to be cleaned, and he could think of quite a few places that needed to be dusted. When his list was finished, it was two sheets of paper with both sides covered.
-
Miri hugged the horse's neck, kissing her on the nose, then left, heading back to the house. She felt better, but still unsure of herself. Oh well. She'd do her best, that's all she could do.
-
He put the list away and continued his reading.
-
God I'm bad at this.-.
Walking back inside, she decided she'd try to start straightening up. -
no love it's good it's just hard when they aren't interacting... hmmmmmm
Adrian was searching for a cure. Ever since his childhood, he hadn't been able to control his... shifting. Having someone else around could distract him from his research, which he definitely didn't want. -
if you say so.
And so Miri began cleaning. She started with the entrance, then worked her way down the hall to begin with. -
He didn't want to explain it to Miss Mason, but he'd have to in time, wouldn't he?
-
Finally finishing with that, she walked back to her room. She was dreading cooking. She honestly had never bothered to learn how. She'd spent most her life reading. Her sisters had always cooked.
