"Some key opens that box and it has a button. Why do you care?"
-
She stood up and looked around, eventually finding the box. Unfortunately, her uncle had remembered to lock it.
-
He rolled his eyes. "Is there anything else you want to bother me with? Because I'd suggest you get out before Zander wakes up. He'd be very displeased to see you."
-
"Can you tell him something for me, actually?" she asked.
-
"And what might that be? If it's so important, I CAN wake him. But you might wanna step back far enough for him not to reach you.."
-
"If you'd rather wake him up than tell him later, I'm okay with that." Anna took a few steps back from the cage.
-
Kayle went over to where Zander was resting and carefully shook him awake. The older yawned and was at the bars before she could blink, reaching for her aggressively. He'd hit his face pretty hard, but he didn't seem fazed.
-
She didn't jump or scoot away like Steph had earlier. She sat cross-legged, waiting for Zander to finish trying to attack.
-
He wouldn't cease, so Kayle caught him at the elbows and held his arms to his sides. "Stop..Just stop and listen for a minute.."
The older growled but settled as his brother helped him relax. -
"Thanks." She smiled weakly at Kayle, then scooted a bit closer to the cage. "Zander, I don't want you to be mad at me. If I hadn't lied, I'd be locked in this cage with you."
-
"What are you talking about? You would've been fine without acting like an ice queen." He hissed.
-
"I did my best to be convincing. I promised I'd help you get Kayle back, and that's what I'm going to do." She was calm throughout the entire discussion.
-
"Yeah right. Prove that I should trust your word because right now, I feel like I should just kill you..Convincing or not. My heart may not beat, but it still feels pain..."
-
It took her a bit to think of how to prove herself, but then she scooted up against the cage and pushed half of her forearm through the bars, offering him her wrist. "Go ahead, kill me. I trust you not to, though, just as I hope you trust me."
-
"You're a fool...A pretty little fool.." He grabbed her arm and pulled her up against the bars carefully. "I bite you, I turn you or you die. I told you that can wait. I was thinking something more simple." He murmured, pressing his face against the metal.
