Zander sighed and gave her hand a gentle squeeze. "Just don't ever go into anything alone, especially when you know someone's there for you."

"I wouldn't," she sighed.

"What's your problem now? Four hundred years and I still don't understand women.."

"I haven't seen them in forever... I wish I didn't have to be seeing them because of this."

"Your uncle brought it upon himself when he decided to take my brother."

"Still." She frowned.

Zander sighed and groaned. "Fine...I didn't plan on killing your cousin, so don't worry about her, but if it makes you happy, we can spare your uncle."

"My cousin is more important to me than my uncle. Do what you'd like to him, but you're dead if you lay a hand on my cousin."

"And if she comes at me..I just let her kill me? I can see the favoritism..." He hissed coldly.

"Defend yourself, but try not to kill her." Of course there was a little favoritism. She'd known him for a week.

"I never intended to." He rolled his eyes.

"I know," Anna said. They were there sooner than she'd expected. She pulled the car off onto a private road, passing a house or two before and large amounts of property before she got to the one she recognized.

"So this is it..I'll let you go in as if you're alone. I'll join you in ten minutes." He placed a cold kiss to her cheek for luck and sat back.
