"I believe you'll be able to beat your uncle, if you really put your mind to it."

"Well... thank you for thinking that." She sighed. "What were you two doing before you were separated, anyway?"

"Moving to a new place. When he was taken, we were trying to get something to eat."

"Oh." She frowned. She reached over and took his hand again. The tips of her fingers were kind of cold, but the rest of her hand was very warm.

He lightly rubbed his thumb over the back of her hand. "You sympathize with me...I like that you try to understand, even if it's hard."

Anna shrugged. "What else would I do? It wouldn't be able to ignore you for the entire trip."

"You could've been really cruel, you could've killed me in my sleep. But you didn't because you care for me."

"I wouldn't know how to kill you. And i suppose this is the same for you." She squeezed his hand gently.

"Not entirely at first, but it feels the same now. Anna..what do you want to do after I've gotten my brother back?" He asked lightly, still rubbing his thumb over her hand.

"I don't know. What do you want to do?" Part of her wanted to go with them... but she didn't know. Did that seem a little needy?

"I'd like to finally live in peace..Live somewhere isolated and away from modern civilization. But maybe I shouldn't do that either. I might get further behind in technology."

"That could be nice... but you really would. I should teach you how to drive." After he turned her, though, if he did, so it was less likely that he'd crash the car and kill them both.

"That would be very beneficial." He chuckled lightly and looked at their hands.

"I don't think you'd have too much trouble learning..."

"We'll see, my darling.." He cut off at the end, embarrassed at having said 'my' as if she actually were his.
