She drove on quietly, trying to relax. "Sorry if I hurt your hand..."

"It didn't hurt at all. I'm sure if I would've grabbed yours like that, it would break.."

Anna considered it, then nodded. "Can I ask you a question?"

"Do not ask to ask, just do it. I will answer...If I'm comfortable with it." Zander stretched his arms and legs a bit to be rid of stiffness.

"Can you read minds?" It was stupid and she felt stupid, but she needed to ask.

He was quiet for a minute then laughed. "You watch way too many movies, sweetheart. But no, not in the slightest. I wouldn't want to either."

She felt really stupid. "Well hey... all myths are based in some fact, right?"

"No. Not always. I haven't met a vampire who could read minds before."

"One more stupid movie question... Do you show up in mirrors?"

"That one is partially true. I don't show in mirrors, but I do show up on camera."

"Well... I knew the camera part, because of your brother. But really?" She looked over at him with wide, green eyes.

"Yes, really. It's not something worth lying to you about."

"Okay I lied, maybe one or two more. Does garlic actually do anything to you?" This was kind of interesting to her.

"If consumed, yes. Just being around it or touching it doesn't bother us. We're allergic if we eat it, but we can be around it. We also think it smells terrible."

"Most people think it smells terrible." She tried to think of any other questions. "I'm not asking these so I know how to properly murder you by the way, if that's what it sounds like. You can hear and smell things that I can't, too, right..?"
