"I wish that too," Jake said, pulling his shirt back on.

She was slightly sad when he put his shirt back on but didn't say anything. "Maybe I can.. Legends always go around." Laughs at her own dreams.

"What kind of legends?" he asked.

"There's a story that says, once a mermaid found a drowning man with a soul of pureness and she saved him. She bestowed upon him a kiss of faith and hope and suddenly he could breath and see and talk under water as long as she would kiss him every two hours." It was one of her favorite stories. "Another one says, if a mermaid of merman is to fall in love with human and the human kisses them with absolutely love, they will turn human. But just a touch of salty water will give them tail once more."

"Huh," he said, thinking about this. "No records though of that happening, right?"

She shrugged, "I haven't been in the Libary much recently." Her eyes darkened. "But I could look or maybe go see the old Oracle." Sighs suddenly feeling cold and empty.

He looked at his watch. "Can you eat human food?" Jake asked curiously.

She tilted her head backwards in thought. "I don't know. I've never seen human food. Well the trash along the shores are quit smelly and awful." She crinkled her nose up in a cute way. "But I'll try it."

He smiled, "I'll be back in a few minutes," he said, before jogging off. There was a Subway nearby, and a Baskin Robbins.

As he left, she stayed on land curiouse of how it felt. She glared at her tail like it was the enemy.

Ten minutes passed, and Jake returned with two subs and a container of ice cream. He sat beside her, and handed over a sandwich.

She picked it up and sniffed it. "This is what you guys eat?" Frowns but tries a bite. She found it a surprise when she liked it. "I love it!!"

He smiled, and took a bite of his flatbread, "yeah. Pretty good, isn't it?"

"Ever eat kelp? It's good with raw fish." Shrugs and continues to eat happily, almost feeling normal.

He shook his head, "no. I've had most types of fish... and shark once." Jake grinned.
