I wake up and steatch. The others are asleep, so I creep over them, nearly falling on Wes. I manage to catch myself though, and arrive outside.
-
I knew I was dreaming. How? Because I saw a large gathering of minsters, titans, and demigods. My heart, however cold it could be, was torn at the sight of the number of demigods that had joined Kronos. They were discussing battle plans, with a map laid out on a table. A map of Manhattan.[/] The scene changed, and I was in a dark palace. There was a man, sitting on a throne, wearing robes made from tortured souls. [i]Hades, I realized. But why would the fates show me him? There was also a boy, kneeling in front of Hades. "Nico," Hades rumbled. "Bring Perseus Jackson to me, and I will tell you about your mother." Nico? Why... Nico glared at Hades. "Why not tell me now?" He shouted. Hades looked up, his eyes full of anger and...was that fear? It was as if he was staring right at me. "Leave," he ordered. "Your time is not yet come."
I woke up, sweating. I glanced at my watch and groaned. I decided that if I was up so early, then I might as well make the most of it. 'Maybe Nico is at Camp.' I thought, then dismissed it. He was at his father's palace. But I wanted to talk to the oracle as well; she might have some answers for me. -
Battle cries, flashing swords, quick arrows, green Greek fire blazing in the background. I stand in the chaos and look as my fellow demi-gods battle monsters of all different kinds. A pair in particular stand out to me, the Stoll brothers fighting in unison. I watch, transit by their actions. A great thundering roar cries out and everything fades to darkness as I here a voice calling my name and a shaking at my shoulders.
"Floor, wake up. I will steal those chocolates I saw you sneaking in earlier," the voice says. I swat at who ever is trying to wake me up and mumble into my pillow, "Five more minutes," That seems to get rid of the voice and I easily drift off again. Then I'm suddenly tilting sideways and on the ground.
I look around surprised and see Travis and Conner putting down my mattress. "There we go. You missed breakfast and there's going to be an inspection in like," Connor checks the clock, "five minutes. So better get a move on," he finishes with a smile. I glare at the both of them but start getting my things together anyways. -
I sat up quickly. "Why would you guys let me sleep in?" I cried. "What time is it?"
Connor stared at me. "You've been staying up way past midnight for like a week, Wes. You needed it." I glared at the son of Hermes. "I mean," Connor said quickly, "You, uh...you don't like being woken up early?" I sighed . "Good enough, Stoll." I rolled up my sleeping bag and stacked in the pile with the rest. I turned to Connor. "By the way, what are we doing today?" My face flushed. "I mean, who are we pranking today?" -
I enter the cabin, yawning. I was still tired, even after breakfast. "We'd better get ready for the inspection."
-
Me and Percy walked into our cabin after breakfast. "What's inspection, anyway?" I asked him.
-
I froze, panicking. We NEVER got a good score on Cabin inspection, but we still tried. I just hoped we got someone nice today. "Connor Stoll, get off your lazy butt and sweep the floor." Connor looked up at me and smirked. "What if I don't want to?" He challenged. I placed my hands on my hips. "Then you shall face the wrath of Wesley Anne Taylor, daughter of...whomever." Connor snorted. "Your middle name...is...Anne?" I growled. "So What? I'll bet you have a pretty ridiculous middle name too."
"But...Anne? Oh, Wes, that is priceless!"
I shoved the broom into his hands. "Got it. My middle name is stupid. Now can you please help clean as much as you can because the inspector gets here?"
Connor yanked the broom, which I was still grasping tightly. I breathed sharply, blushing at how close he and I were, physically. Was he doing this on purpose? Connor smirked. "Wow, Taylor, I didn't realize you could actually show emotion." He tilted his a little...Gods, why did he have to make my brain go haywire?! Acting through emotions instead of good old reason, I closed my eyes halfway, reaching up on my tiptoes. Curse my short height. -
I blushed and did my best to surpress the giggles. Travis elbowed me, winking, before saying loudly, "Get a room!" I couldn't help but laugh a little.
-
I quickly walked back to my cabin. When I walked inside, Annabeth was already preparing for inspection with almost everyone else. People were cleaning the armory, library, workshop, tables, models, and just about everything else. Annabeth looked at me, "Cynthia, you can help clean the library." She said. I nodded, and went to do it.
-
I took several steps back, blushing furiously. "Shut up guys, it was nothing." Connor was glaring at at Travis and Diana, but looked sharply at me. "Yeah," he said, his tone hinting at...regret. Hi normally fun, devious-looking eyes (not that I payed attention to his eyes, of course) seemed dull, the life taken out of them. But once he noticed that I noticed, he grinned, not convincing me, and sure at Tartarus not convincing Travis. "Good fun, eh, Wes?" He smirked. I grinned as well, which definitely didn't convince anyone. "Yeah. Sure." I shoved Connor, half playfully and half angrily (how could he joke about something so...serious?). "But seriously, we need to get here before..." I saw Percy and Annabeth standing in the doorway. Did they see what just happened? I blushed again. Gods, I hoped not.
-
I burst out laughing, leaning on Travis for support. The two of us were in stitches. I finally stood up, wiping my eyes. "Wow, Wes, your face sure can get red." Travis was still laughing. His eyes kind of crinkled up at the edges when he laughed. Blinking, I mentally slapped myself. Why on earth would I notice something like that!? Shaking my head, I turn my attention back to Wes and Connor.
-
I glared at Diana. "Nothing happened, okay?" I snapped. Gods, if they keep this up, everyone will know I have a crush on Connor. Said demigod was still staring at me, confusion mixed with hurt and anger showing in his eyes I frowned. Was he...no, Connor NEVER gets mad at me. That was as possible as the gods having no more kids. I shook my head. "Whatever." I muttered, hurt as well. "I'll be at my rock in the woods." I announced, staring at Connor pointedly. "Just in case." Connor made no move to stop me. I kicked a mattress angrily on the way out, then ran."
-
Connor: I walked over to Travis and punched him. "I was so close! Why did you have to say anything?"
-
I reached after her, but it was too late. "I was only joking..." Travis nudged me. "It's okay, Diana..." "No, it's not. I'm sorry Connor." I tell him awkwardly.
-
Travis backed up. "Hey, look, I'm sorry! I was joking!" I stepped in front of Connor. "Please, calm down Connor. I can go talk to Wes."
