Raven looked up at the scene, and said quietly, "I'm glad I chose a shiny..."

Soon after, the pansage fell. "Who wants to go next?" A worker called out.

Raven thrust her hand up. "I will!"

The worker nodded and led her to the arena entrance. An announcer's loud voice sounded. "And for our second round, we have Bradley and his squirtle, Sheldon, and Raven and her..."

"Umbreon, Midnight." Raven said.

"...and her umbreon, Midnight!" The boy stepped into the ring, throwing a pokeball. A squirtle burst out in a midst of sparkling bubbles.

"Go!" Raven said, pointing towards the ring, hoping Midnight would follow her directions.

Midnight jumped out, firing a shadow ball before she hit the ground. She landed softly on a patch of purple and black crackling shadows, which faded away.

Raven smiled, and whispered to herself, "Well, we've got the better entrance..."

The squirtle jumped around. "Use bubble beam and shell smash!" The turtle pokemon tucked his arms, legs, and head in his shell and began spinning around, spraying bubbles out.

"Use Shadow Ball and Quick-Attack!"

Midnight charged up another dark energy ball and darted around the arena, dodging bubbles. She stopped back near her trainer, leaving a shadowy trail of smoke behind her.

"Confuse Ray!" Raven said with a smiled. Confused Pokmon would mean a bad performance. -
Midnight smiled, knowing her trainer's plan. She shot a multi-colored beam towards squirtle while leaping gracefully through the air.
