Tia noticed his self-consciousness and giggled. "It looks fine," She said. Tia walked over to the lake, sat down, and stuck her feet in the water.

Jordon followed her. "So, how old are you?"

"I'm 12 years old. But my birthday is in 2 months," Tia touched the water and a stream of water shot up. Tia laughed, "I'm also a Water Mage in training."

"I just turned 18 not to long ago. I left to come here before I got real training, but I can"-A small flower burst up from the ground-"do some tricks... I never studied one thing, I'd always learn a few tricks, then try something else."

Tia looked at the flower and smiled, "Cool!" She kicked her feet a bit in the water, "I can barely control my magic. I never had time to finish my training. I wasn't even supposed to start my training till I turned 13 but my teacher said I was ready."

Jordon smiled. "I see... you must be good for your age, then."

Tia thought about that for a second, "I guess so," Tia looked at the flower again. "I think that magic is neat. It brings new possibilities. I worked harder then most people in school because I was waiting for the day I turned 13. But I ended up starting early and now I can hardly control my magic." She sighed.

"How long were you in training? A few months?" Jordon asked.

Tia nodded, "Yeah, I started about 5 months ago, I can do some of the basics though. Like controlling and freezing and stuff. But that's about it. I never learnt spells. So I have to be around water to use magic."

Jordon nodded. "I tried to be a water mage... I lasted about 2 weeks."

"Really?" Tia tried not to smile at that. She knew it was rude.

"That's how long I usually lasted. The longest I spent in one apprenticeship was a month."

"Oh," Tia didn't know anything else to say to that. As she was thinking about it, her foot froze in the water. Tia's eyes widened and she melted the ice, embrassed.

"Unless you count how my parents had me do some small Woodland magic since I was 7... but I really didn't have a choice." Jordon continued.

"That still counts. Besides woodland magic is prettier then water magic. Unless freezing your foot is pretty," As soon as she said that, Tia started laughing.
