Tia looked at her feet, "T-Tia. Tia Scarlet."

"I'm Jordon. Jordon Ballard."

"Nice to meet you," Tia for some reason felt at ease around Jordon. She didn't know why.

"Are you an elf?" Jordon asked. She looked kinda like an elf, but not a full-blooded elf.

Tia looked up at Jordon in surprise. Then again, the ears kinda give it away. "Sort of. My Mom is an elf but my Dad was a human."

Jordon nodded. "I see..."

Tia noticed for the first time that Jordon's ears were pointed as well, "Are you an elf?"

Jordon nodded. "I am."

Tia's eyes widened. Another elf? She stared at a lake and suddenly became homesick. She shook her head and looked at her feet again.

Jordon thought she looked sad. "What is it?"

"Oh," Tia shifted her feet, "I felt the Elven World a couple of hours ago. I'm from the more water-filled areas. We were attacked. Most people died. My parents told me to escape." Tia looked at the lake again, "I hope everyone's ok..."

"Who attacked? Was it some other elves?" Jordon hoped it wasn't anyone from his family. His family lived in the deepest part of the forest, rarely coming out into the sun. He had been the oddball, always going out of the forest to play. That was actually why he had left. Yet he loved the forest as much as he loved wide open spaces.

"To be honest, I'm not sure. I asked the elders, my parents, and family and friends, no one would tell me. Either that or they didn't know. I thought they were monsters. But some people thought they were other Elves from the other parts of the Elven World," Tia paused then continued, "I couldn't believe that other Elves would attack us. But after time, that seemed more and more likely. Eventually, I was told to leave and go to the Human World. So that's how I got here."

Jordon nodded. "Well, you'll be safe here. Most full-blooded elves don't stay here. They're to noticeable." Suddenly, he was self-conscious of how he was wearing regular human clothes.
