"Then why do you stay?" He asked, remembering what Steel had told him about the camp. The gray young tom often explored the many side tunnels, and had found a way into camp. "Is it for a mother who won't let you out of her sight? For a brother too busy to care? For an apprentice who's temper is about as long as my tail!?" He asked, flicking the short appendage for emphasis.

"For..." She started, then stopped. For what do I stay?

"I'll wait." He said, sitting down. Otterpaw regarded Lightpaw nervously.

"For..."She started again. For... nothing...

Otterpaw and Shock were brig silent, each wanting a different answer.

"For... nothing."

Otterpaw's eyes widened. The usually happy-go-lucky apprentice was shocked. "Lightpaw..." Shock showed a triumphant smile.

The white apprentice looked Otterpaw in the eyes, "My name is Jewel."

Otterpaw blinked, slightly scared. She didnt know what to say. Shock merely nodded. "That's better, Jewel."

Jewel game him a small smile.

Shock returned the favor. "Good to have you back. Steelwillbe waiting."

Jewel nodded, then looked at Otterpaw. "What about her?"
