Thread Topic: We should pray?
-
This was said by a Christian supporter of Romney on Facebook: "We should pray for strength for the suffering we are about to endure". There are a lot of things wrong with this comment. I'd like to know if you guys find this as ignorant as I do.
-
I do, I'm just saying. What "suffering" are we about to endure? I haven't had a break from my die-hard Republican family since we found out Obama won. To tell the truth, I was for Obama.
-
I do.
-
Yep. Very ignorant.
-
I very much do. :I
-
We arent going to "suffer". Honestly I dont think its going to get that bad.
On the other hand, I did pray during the election. But dont be deceived; I asked God for the right president to win. I did not pray for Romney. -
^Well good for you Skyler! :)
-
Thanks! I find praying for the thing you want is stupid. God has a plan, and what happens happens. But it all happens for a reason.
-
Though I respect your religion, I say that everything happens for a reason.
Since you know I don't believe in a "god", I'm just gonna keep it at that. -
Well Skyler touched on one of the issues I had. How much are we really gonna suffer? Compared to a large chunk of the world's population, America is doing alright. There are a billion people on Earth who don't have clean drinking water. We're doing better than a lot of Europe even. At the moment we are not teetering on the verge of economic collapse like they are in Greece or Iceland. I think a lot of people just need a lesson in perspective really.
-
I think people need to get over the assumption that Obama is an evil terriost. If he was, America wouldn't exist anymore. I haven't had a break sice the beginning of the election campaign.
I went to bed before the election results were announced so I asked my mother who had won in the morning. Her response was, "Let's just say that we're going to go through a very hard time if we survive."
I then said, "So Romney won?"
She just looked at me and said that Obama won. When I got to school my friends and I threw a little party at lunch to celebrate. -
What relevance does that have to the discussion?
-
FLgirl92 NoviceOh brother. I've been hearing so much of that lately. Kind of makes it hard for me to call myself a Christian.

@emmajamme Okay, sorry, that was actually supposed to go somewhere else. I typed in the wrong tab and am literally just noticing because I'm opened this just now. Again, sorry!
