God is imaginary.
Can anyone out there give factual information to tell me I'm wrong? -
tongue AdvancedNo. There is absolutely no way of knowing for a fact whether or not God exists. Either you decide there's too much evidence against His existence, or you say "screw the evidence" and believe. There is some legitimacy to the latter. Sure, you can point to all sorts of natural disasters and wrongdoing by humanity and say "no just God would allow this", but how could anyone possibly begin to know what God's plan is? Anyway, I'm still an atheist because I'm basically at a point where I don't need God.

If there was no proof to support a god, why do people still accept him? He never shows up, he never personally affects your life, and he never actually causes anything. The only thing the religious have to stand on is the hope that when they die that they will be granted immortality. Even that if you pay attention to history was a governments way of getting people to snap out of depression and do free labor.
-
tongue AdvancedAlso I prefer not to believe in something that I can't perceive or find to be true myself. My faith is not that strong.
-
I find it funny that religious people claim to be humble and not sinners.
Think about it, wouldnt claiming that if you follow an imaginary man that you'll be granted immortality and paradise the most self centered and selfish act possible? -
tongue AdvancedHope is a big part of human existance. Without it, what else is there? The last thing I'd want to do is convince my religious friends to be atheists. Considering faith is such a big part of their lives, I know that if they couldn't have that anymore, they'd be lost, hopeless, and cynical. It is possible to be an atheist and still be positive and happy, but you have to attach belief to something. Maybe it isn't God, maybe it's just the basic goodness of humanity, or the belief that everything will work itself out in the end.
-
tongue AdvancedIt is a contradiction, yes.
-
I am a happy atheist.
My only belief is to be proud of myself. I enjoy making other peoples lives more clear or happier. I personally think humanity is doomed and that some things dont fix themselves. But hey, if I can put a smile on your face, I'm happy. :) -

Life is a stage, you are an entertainer, leave them smiling.

i love my God....

People have their beliefs. No need to come say what has been said a million times.

What Vege said
-
tongue AdvancedI'm not attempting to shove my beliefs down anyone's throats.
-
I'm not doing it nearly enough...
"Do unto others..."
In all honesty I should be beating you down, turning your family against you, and having the government take my side to help me shove my beliefs down your throat. But I cant do any of those so I'll just have to make do. :P
