That's a rather unjust thought, wouldn't you think? In this country, there is religious freedom. Therefore, such a thing can't be done.
-
"one nation, under god, with liberty and justice for all."
"In god we trust."
"God bless america."
I never said that there wasnt religious freedom, I said that the government sided with christianity to shove their "God" down the rest of our throats.
Did you know that writtin on a golden plack of the top of the washington monument there is are the words, "god is good"?
Have you ever noticed that the words, "In god we trust" are written on almost every dollar bill?
And I bet you didnt know that those were all petitioned to get removed but the catholic church demanded that the government keep them. The government sided with the church even though it is written in the constitution that religion shall be kept seperate from government. -
Um... pretty sure those phrases and ideas were the foundation our nation was found upon. I would simply live with it.
-
holden NewbieI really dont have a view on religion. Im sorta an athiest but god is possible to exist..
-
Highschoolers don't do the pledge here. :3
But the government's stupid anyway so...it fits with their idiocy. -
holden Newbiethe government's full of phony a--holes.
-
Agreed. Greedy, good-for-nothing people. :I
I think I'll take this to politics. -
It's easy to say, "deal with it" when it's your beliefs that are everywhere. I cant walk down the street without seeing the ignorance of a mass imaginary friend posted in every other store window.
-
deal with it.
-
You have religious freedom. That should be taken for granted. So stop complaining.
-
*Shouldn't
-
I agree with the religious freedom thing. If you want to post an atheist bulletin next to a theist one, go ahead. But don't complain about other people displaying their faith openly.
-
See, I don't mind atheists: everyone is allowed their opinion, their form of hope.
But you? You're pissing me off. You're basically taking a dump on all who are religious, acting as if we're all ignorant good-for-nothing idiots who believe in anything that tghe majority believes in.
True, there are many who are like this, but you don't need to go spouting out idiocy. You look like a real snob when you say things like this, making me suspect you have a hint of a superiority complex.
In other words?
Shut the f--- up, mind your own business and deal with the world, the way it is? If you don't like it, don't post your opinions on a quiz site: CHANGE IT.
Oh, and BTW: CSB. -
tongue AdvancedHeavy Heart is what I like to refer to as a "street sign atheist". This breed of atheist is upset by the appearance of God's name on so much as a street sign. Any kind of faith, or lack of faith, should be a personal decision as opposed to something you seek to convert people too. When you go around insisting you are right and that people who believe in God are stupid or evil, you're no better than the intolerant Christian dickheads who do the same damn thing.
I don't mean this as personal attack. I mean it only as words of wisdom and advice from someone with greater life experience. -
On the contrary everyone. I am a second account. I was curious to see what kind of reputation I had built up around myself, so I created a new account and acted the exact same way I always had. It surprises me to see how many people treat me differently when they dont know me as apposed to when they do.
I dont know if it's the fact that I was a senior member, or the fact that I had debated with almost all of you until you gave up, but it's interesting to see the differences. Honestly it's dissapointing to see how little regard you'll hold for someone when the only difference is that you dont know them. I act the same, talk the same, and insult religion the exact same, and yet the responses and emotions i get in return are very different.
