i think I have it figured out... it's not that he's not making sense, he just isnt using proper grammar.
-
I read your "life story" and what drove you away from religion was your concept. And what 6th time asking now? You're doing a good job of ignoring me here: Where did you get your concept? Is it a Catholic teaching or is it your own?
-
My enitial question was my own concept. My research was from every religion. And my conclusion was the only thing that didnt require me to believe something imaginary.
-
Okay I'll make my point and then let's put this debate down since I don't contain scientific facts and that's what you want to hear.
Yes, your initial question about how God tries us with all these different religions is not what I believe. God hasgiven us free will to do what we please and the peolpe themselves have brought upon the religion. Doesn't that make more sense? -
Where'd you get the idea that God tests us w/ different religions? Again, is that a Catholic teaching?
-
Yes it does. Humanity came up with religion. I'm glad we can both agree on that. But where as I realize that religion was a bronze age ideology to help explain the unexplainable, you still hold onto it. That is why I try to convert religious people.
2000 years ago people like you would have fully believed that the sun was carried across the sky by a flaming chariot, where as people like me would try and disprove that.
200 years ago if a young girl moved to your town and didnt get sick when everyone else did, people like you would burn her at a stake because she was a witch. While people like me would be trying to figure out what else could have happened.
This is why i disagree with religion as a whole. It has never done anything but hold back humanity. You yourself are living proof of that. You tell me to play it safe and not question a god because "I might be wrong". I might be wrong and I might be right, but at least I'll take the risk and prove myself. -
that was to your post. The idea that god tests us with other religions in my own conception coupled with home teachings.
-
I'm not rejecting science. I go against what scientists say when it tests the Bible but I don't reject science at all.
-
it doesnt test the bible, it disproves it. Science has disproved thousands of things, and yet even though science has disproven religion as well, people still hang onto it and deny any proof against it.
-
Wow I just realized I really really contradicted what I said. I accpet science to the extent to where it doesn't dissapprove the Bible. tat's basically what I was trying to say.
-
Alright, you want to end it until another time?
-
so you refuse science and ignore proof once it crosses that line?
-
reread what I commented and you'll get the answer. I've already defined what I believe.
You want to end this until another time? -
"I accpet science to the extent to where it doesn't dissapprove the Bible."
that's what you said. You said you accept science until it disproves religion. -
and no. I dont want to end it. You had no issue telling someone else to mind their own buisseness and calm down because we were debating, so lets debate.
