God doesn't hate gays? Have you read the bible, or at least been on the Internet? In the Bible it says something like, a man shall not lie with a man as he lies with a woman.
Actually it does say that he's fine with slavery.
I see you didn't say anything about the fact that he thinks women are the most evil. Seriously, how can you say God is perfect when he's like that? Are you saying women are the most evil and the slavery is good?
Right and wrong are opinions, I know that.
I know you can't disprove his existence, but you can't prove it either, and by the way, why doesn't God make miracles that prove his existence happen anymore? Are you going to say that he does but when anyone says they saw a miracle everyone just thinks they're crazy? -
so my beliefs are very diff from all of yours
god is loving and accepting, he wants all of the souls on earth to the be the best that they can be
so, it has to do a lot with reincarnation
if you were a relatively "good" soul, you go to the big place above, watch your life over, and decide whether or not you want to go back and improve your soul. you can go back whenever.
"bad" souls, like hitler's, immediately are rebirthed as they need improvement most
god hates no one, he only wants to see souls improve. there's also no hell, just pre-constructed ideas like the devil and demons to scare people into a certain lifestyle. -
OR they don't believe the miracle actually happened. All these miracles happen all the time, we just never open our eyes. I have my personal proof, though it won't make sense to you. YOu'd have to experience it personally.
I'm not avoiding anything. Calm down, I can only tell you what I know. I'm not all-knowing.
I should explain this better. God doesn't hate sinners, He hates sin. It tears us farther from Him. You know, like you start a path and keep following it, then it's hard to turn away. Marriage really is for a man and woman only--that's how we're designed after all. Gays goes against His word, so He calls us out. He wants that to stop, sorry.
As for slavery, it goes back to the culture thing. I don't see Him calling America to start slavery. He doesn't make our lot in life better, He doesn't just magically pull us out of tough situations. He stands beside us in the fire. There was a story in the bible. Back with Abraham's time. Hagar was a female slave, obediant. Abraham's wife Sarah cast her out, then Hagar had to wander in the desert. But God was with her. He encouraged her, gave her strength, had her go back. And through her son HE made a great nation.
What on earth makes you think GOd despises women? Doesn't Hagar's story help you out? God says himself that He created us all equal, He loves us all the same. And He died for all the women too. Like I said, 1 sin is as bad as another. That's makes everyone equally guilty. -
Sorry wolflove, again I go to: How can you tell good from bad? Right from wrong? What's your definition on the issue. I have the bible for my guidelines, and God's Word. Wbu?

Oh hey, as much as I love discussion right now, I'm nodding off. I'll get back to you all tomorrow.

As I said, there's a line in the Bible that says something like, there is no wickedness like the wickedness of a woman, I don't remember what exactly it said, but it means the same thing.
In the Bible it did say something about how slaves must obey their masters, multiple times, so you're saying the culture back then was fine, slavery is fine, slaves suffered, of well, it was their culture.
And here's one thing I have to say, God has planned everything, everything that happens is part of his plan, you have no free will because he planned everything you do. But if he doesn't want gays to me married, or even f--- each other, why did he plan them to do that? If he wants everyone to blindly believe in him, why make people not do that? If he hates sin, why did he plan people to sin? And remember, he planned everything, he planned Lucifer to be 'evil', he planned Eve to eat that fruit, he planned the Holocaust. If he wants everyone to be 'good', why did he plan them to do things like steal, murder, rape, etc? If he wants everyone to be in Heaven with him why did he plan people to sin, or what seems to really matter, why did he plan people to not believe or accept him? Why did he plan the majority of humans to go to Hell? And why did he plan that non-human animals wont even get the chance to believe or accept him? I have an answer for this, God's a f---ing psychopath. -
By the way, I know this sounds stupid, but I assure you, it's of equal intelligence to gay marriage and gay sex being bad, slavery being fine because that was their culture, and woman being the most wicked. According to the Bible, you are not supposed to cut your hair.

i dont read the bible because it's been paraphrased numerous times through a multitude of languages
i dont mind if you do, but i dont
right and wrong is tricky. what is right for you? it is technically wrong to steal, but if you have starving children and no money, would you let then die or steal to provide?
it is God's judgement, sure, but he cares less about your sexuality and religion, your clothing choices. your sex drive and even whether or not you believe in him. he wants to see you connect with others and bring your good into society.
because your soul is on this perpetual journey to be the best that it can be. you have to be fairly bad to be instantly rebirthed, as birth is the one of the scariest things a human can experience. if you are a serial killer or have committed suicide for reasons such as power over others (i.e. an abusive parent killing themselves to gain more emotional control over their children, even after death), it is expected you will be reincarnated immediately. you dont get to decide your path.
the thing about our journey is that our souls typically control it. if and when we make it to the great beyond, we decide the time we return to earth to start a new life. we settle the obstacles we will face before we are returned to life. and once we are here, we continue our journey to be the best we can be.
you know when you try to remember life before we were here, and that feeling you get in your stomach? i mean, i get that feeling. many believe it is the "ethereal cord" that makes us miss our home, heaven as you would call it. but our souls shake it off and continue on as we should.
it may sound strange and peculiar, and i could probably explain it better at a time that isnt 2:05am. catch ya tom. -
So you don't believe in Hell yet you call yourself a Christian? You probably don't believe in Satan either.
So according to you, would a serial killer who wholeheartedly believes they aren't doing anything wrong reincarnate? And what about a serial killer who knows what they're doing is wrong, but it's the best they can be, will they reincarnate?
If you don't go by the Bible and the God in the Bible, then you're not a Christian, you might be a lot like a Christian, but you're not a Christian. Sure, if you don't know something about God but you go by whatever you know you can still be Christian, but if you find out something about him and you decide to ignore it but you still call yourself Christian, you're lying. -
good thing i dont consider myself a christian :)
no, not what i was trying to say.
right and wrong is tricky. a serial killer or a genocidal leader like hitler may think they are right, but they will be auto-reincarnated. right is somewhat determined by god, but as i said, it takes a lot to be turned away.
everyone is reincarnated at some point, what you have done just determines if you automatically are born again or if you get to spend time in heaven. -
and also, should add, before pope constantine and the byzantine emperor justinian, reincarnation was actually a very accepted and fundamental aspect.
-
i can go more in depth about why my beliefs can be considered christian if you'd like. i don't get to talk about it much and it's nice.
-
Do you remember all your lives when your in Heaven?
-
once you go to heaven, you look back on your most recently lived life and then i believe you can go further back. those lives dont matter much, though, as you have lived them and already decided your soul needed improvement.
-
But you could have some cool memories. And there are many dead people that would fun to talk to. And those lives could matter, like if you were once Einstein, you would definitely want to remember that.
I usually don't believe things unless they can be proven and make sense, but I gotta say, whatever I believe, whatever kind of Christian you are makes much more sense than people who worship a psychopath who created everything for his own enjoyment.
