I'm confused.
Will you go to heaven just because you accept Jesus no matter what you did? Even if you commit a million sins? -
I think so, meaning Adolf Hitler is in heaven. It's a stupid system, but that's how it works.
-
Oh ok.
-
Yes. If you believe Jesus is the son of God and that He died on the cross for you, and that He rose from the dead 3 days later, then you will be saved. But you also got to admit that you sin, that you mess up, that you need Him. You got to commit your life to Him. As for Hitler, I can tell you he was not right with God, that he didn't have a relationship with him. Before he died, however, I don't know if he repented or not. Some people say that's the perfect life--live how you want then accept Jesus before you die, that way you get into heaven.
I have a good example. When Jesus was on the cross, hanging there, the man on the other cross on his right was actually getting crucified because he had done some bad stuff. But he called out to Jesus while on his cross, and asked for forgiveness. -
And Jesus said that He would see him in heaven. So it is possible to do that sort of thing, and many people do. But I don't think that's the "perfect life". God can help you out with your afterlife, but He can also help you out in this life. If your sad, or scared, or lonely, or whatever, God is there to give you everlasting comfort and joy. You accept Him, and He promises joy. Not happiness, joy. Happiness is something we can achieve on our own. His joy that He gives us is a joy knowing that He has already overcome our biggest problems. God is in control.

Er, I could go on, so if you have any other questions, let me know.
-
"even if you commit a million sins..." that's the beauty of what GOd is offering. No matter how many times you've messed up, God is always there for you. He will never leave you.
-
But here's the thing, as far as I know, it doesn't matter how many sins you commit, if you don't believe in Jesus you are going to Hell no matter what, unless you believe in Jesus.
-
Yeah, though it's not just enough to believe. You have to accept it too. Many atheists were once christians, but they rejected God, so they have believed but they dont accept it.
-
So basically, let's say there is an extremely good person, he is very nice, helps animals, donates to charity often, etc, and he hardly ever sins. But, he is an atheist, so even though he is such a wonderful person, he's still going to Hell. Because that makes sense.
-
Can anybody tell me how this makes sense?
-
Look, he may be a great guy, but I'm sure he's messed up before. Lied once, even if it was a white lie. Cheated once. Doesn't matter. You screw up once and that's it. You're a sinner. What I'm saying is that no one is perfect. Except Jesus.
God says the punishment for sin is death. Death is eternal separation from God (hell). The only way to get to heaven is to be perfect, something not possible on our own. No matter how hard we try, we mess up. That's why we need Jesus, who's perfect.
He came here to earth and died just for us! Just for you, if that's what it took. Think, the GOd of all creation, Creator of heaven and earth, died for you. -
So basically, the only way to not be tortured for the rest of eternity is to accept something that can't be proven, oh, and you have accept someone who hates gays, thinks slavery is good, in the Bible it says something like, there is no wickedness like the wickedness of a woman, or something like that. How is that perfect?
And you're saying that in God's eyes an atheist serial killer and this great guy both deserve to go to hell just as much as each other. -
It says in the bible that one sin is as guilty as another. And I 'd rather go off that than people's judgement. HOw can we honestly tell right from wrong? WE all have different views on it.
GOd doesn't hate gays, He doesn't hate anyone. IF he did, why would He die on a cross for everyone?
You say that no on e can prove God's existence. Well I say that no one can disprove God's existence. Many have tried, none have succeeded. Look it up, and from a nonbiased resource. Or you could check out the movie God's Not Dead. That was cool. IT's mostly a debate with evolution v. God.
I never said a perfect world. Jesus is perfect. HE is in control, but the prince of this world is Satan. Don't worry. IN the bible it says that even Satan has to ask God's permission. -
And it never says slavery is good. that was the culture back then. DO we not have similar cultures today? Rather, he's calling us to be submissive and in that way, loving. YOU don't have to. It's your choice.
