Wow, I have that story in my Islam book, it's a bit similair.
It's:-
A man had a horse, but it ran away, his neighbors came to cheer him up, but he wasn't emotional and said: How do you know it is bad luck?
And then the horse came back and had brought along a load of horses with it, so neighbors came to congratulate him, but he said: How do you know it's good luck?
And one day, the man's son was riding one of the horses when he fell and broke his leg, then an army came and took all the men to slavery, but left the man's son because he was useless seeing as he had a broken leg. -
wow see God does everything for a reason

Exactly, that's what the lesson in my Islam book was about. Belief in everything that happens, you could get some money, but that doesn't mean it's good, you could spend it on something that could wreck your life.

Well I think most religions, be they monotheistic or polytheistic, are very similar.
Chances are there's a god.
Plus, that philosophy teacher would get sued and wouldn't be teaching philosophy because you can't do that to people.
I appreciate the meaning of the story but I don't think I can take it as The Full Truth.
Kind of like the Bible, or any holy book, in some ways. -
actually that story is true and the bible was written by God through people the Bible is nothing but the truth and thats wat i believe

im not tryin to change ur belief but i believe in God and wen i need help hes there..................................... one day my mom and aunt was drivin home rom work and they were talkin bout god and how ppl thinks the worlds comin to an end and theywere sayin we Jesus comes there ready cause they have faith and as they were talking a drunk driver came out of no where and destroyed the car they walked out of the car alive and was sent by ambulance to the hospital no major injuries were done just bruises everyone who saw the car asks them how did yall survive especially to be able to walk out of the car and i believe because God was watchin after them and saved them

due to the amount of technology we have we have made cars safer to drive in and in case of an accident they instaled stafty stuff like air bags

the air bags almost killed my momma and the car was totaled and no one should have survived but they did

and that cant be due to tacnology normaly ppl dnt survive car accidents like that my momma and aunt should not be here but they r and the were able to walk away wen people ask how its impossible and they survied wot minor injuries i believe only God could do something like that .............. another day my brother got in a car accident and his air bag stopped workin it didnt deploy and his seat belt came undone and he said he saw my grandpas face in the window and he heard God and he survived tooo

The story in the beginning about the atheist professor. It's just an urban legend that Christians have been spreading around for years. If you look up 'atheist professor' on the website Snopes it explains the origin of it.
