Don't get butthurt over a joke :I
-
NeonHedgehog Novice@Sports- Sorry! I was in a rush, had to do some homework I forgot I had! (I know, call me stupid!)
-
@Zane I didn't mean it that way. :) I was joking too.
-
I didn't get mad or anything. I just type my thoughts.
-
If I go to Mexico or Spain,Dora isn't going to help me with anything. :P
We need History/Social Studies so we don't make the same mistakes
And a lot more reasons why we need school. As much as hate it,we need it. -
They have Spanish Dora where she teaches you English.
-
It's not even a joke, to be honest. Just plain stupidity.
-
I thought you were more intelligent than this, Zane.
Music - I can probably say that music is more human than most of us today. It's part of our history, and a huge part of cultures everywhere. Chances are, you were listening to music as you posted that image. I'm listening to music as I type this out right now. And what about Jillian? She wants to be a singer, doesn't she? She needs to know music beyond singing if she wishes to succeed in the field of music. She'll need to know notes, time, beat, rhythm, etcetera. Plus, in order to post decent music on YouTube, one should also understand music.
Sports - Fitness is important, as this country's obesity rate is rising. Sports are one way to get the daily exercise we should have and keep our bodies healthy. Plus, sports are fun. :)
Spanish - Knowing a second language can help you in a job later in life, and help you communicate in everyday life. You're more likely to be hired if you know how to speak one of the most common languages in the US. Plus, learning a second language makes learning a third language easier.
English - English will also help you get a job later in life, and make you look like less of an imbecile. It's necessary to speak in a way that others can understand. Having a wide understanding of the correct use of the English language is an important skill in everyday life.
Math - You use math every day! How much will the total be of everything I've purchased? Is it faster to walk to school or take the bus? Mental math is more convenient than whipping out a calculator every time you need to solve a problem. Math is almost as important as knowing how to read and write.
Geography - A globe won't help you know that this region is very snowy during the winter months. Knowing the areas and climates of the world is useful if you are going to travel often, or are moving somewhere. The only reason I could think of there being no need to learn Geography is if you wished to live in the same exact place and never leave for your entire life. Never leave. EVER.
History - It's important to know who we've been as a nation. We can learn from them not to make the same mistakes, or what they did well that we should continue. History is important because we can always learn from it. -
And I did not see that this was a joke.
