I have sociology and I need to ask you humans the following questions
You will be helping me pass this class by stating your opinion/ have the chance to throw shade and prepare for flame wars like you love.
1. Your daughter/son just came out to you as gay. On a scale of 1-10, how accepting are you of their choice?
And
2. A lot of lgbt teens commit suicide because of the daily bullying they face. What is your opinion on this?
yes, they do get hate. We don't live in f---ing land of Ooo. You may have not seen it yet, but it exists. -
OH AND EXPLAIN YOUR REASONING.*
-
If my child was gay it wouldn't bother me. If they turned into a rainbow club person though i would be disappointed.
And... no.. lol they dont face any kind of daily bullying that should drive them to suicide. -
.o. thank chu for your answer, I really appreciate it.
I NEED 40 PEOPLE MORE
COME ON MUNCHKINS. -
as long as they love me and know what the f--- theyre doing in their life,im full steam ahead on suppourting them.
Most kids i know dont make funs of gays once they get into highschool. they just need to know when to stay away from the jocks. -
I would be totally fine with it, as I would also be contradicting myself if I wasn't x3 It's their choice, and I want them to be who they are, not hide themselves because they think their mother is going to beat them or threaten them. It's not like being gay is a bad thing, anyway.
As for committing suicide because of their sexuality, I honestly don't see a difference than people committing suicide because of just plain bullying. People shouldn't make it about their sexuality as the reason of why they kill themselves. It's, honestly, the bullying. Straight kids get bullied all the time, and they commit suicide over it, too, sad enough. They're committing suicide because of the bullying of their sexuality, and ugh I'm repeating myself but oh well. I have a feeling not very many people will understand my reasoning, so if you need me to go deeper let me know, as my thoughts are all over the place as of late xDand I'm just a stupid fourteen year old girl so whatever -
40 people more.
That was smart. eue
***40 more people.
.o. I see. Thank chu for your answers. ^-^
.o. Interesting. .o. you're going to be a good mommy one day.
.o. I see. -
Well, I sure hope so x3 Glad I could help you with what ever project you're doing for what ever class ^~^

That headline only goes to shows that people with gender dysphoria are ill
-
Well, with a 40% suicide rate, that's hardly surprising.
1. If my son was gay I'd tolerate him, but I wouldn't exactly be accepting of his life style.
2. People commit suicide all the time, why are we giving special attention to LGBT? Bullying is an issue that affects all teens, attempting to seperate it into little camps and dealing with it one at a time is not the way to solve it. You need to target bullying as a whole, not run around going 'well, you can't bully LGBT, but everyone else is fair game.'
Also, wasn't the land of Ooo FULL of hate? Finn fought a different monster every week. Hell, Finn himself hated the Ice King. -
1. all of the love and acceptance yo
2. Pretty much what everyone else has been saying. It's a tragedy when anyone commits suicide. The bullying could be helped if everyone was taught to just not be shtty people and if these people that are in positions of power would do something to prevent it rather than trusting a bunch of stupid kids to sort themselves out and learn how to be decent on their own.
Did he actually hate the Ice King? I know they fought, but I thought they had their friendly moments, too, didn't they? It's been a while since I've seen it, but I think they helped each other a few times. -
my_philsophy_tea NewbieLiterally almost all my friends are gay. I'm considered the "straight one" in the squad XD
-
um

I only watched the first two seasons, so it might have changed, but he certainly did start off hating the Ice King. I mean, he at least hated the fact that he stole his girlfriend all the time and caused so much trouble.
Also, I don't think you can teach people not to be s---ty people. By definition, a s---ty person isn't going to let themselves be taught anything. There's too many causes of bullying to say it's simply because bullies are s---ty people. Plus, I don't think there's anything people in power can do that they're not already doing. Authority doesn't stop things like bullying, it only makes it more subtle.
