IHLAOY NewbieWell, I've never needed to fight a dolphin before! How am I supposed to know it's weak points? Or basic physiology? Or the fact that it breathes air? You gotta cut me some slack here.

Why else would dolphins jump out of the water? Why do you think they have blowholes?

IHLAOY NewbieI assumed dolphins used water as weight to sink faster, and that blowholes allowed them to control their intake. It made sense.

IHLAOY NewbieI didn't think an argument on whether I could fight a dolphin would NEED research. I assumed it would be a joke-ish 'here, hold my beer,' argument, in which we agree to disagree.
And again, I assumed the blowhole was used to take in and remove water so that dolphins would rise or sink faster, similar to a submarine.
However, since I have been shown to be the quite the fool on dolphin physiology, I think it would be time to close the thread and agree that I should never be a vet. -
Whether or not you could fight a dolphin was not the thing that required research. I was inquiring if under your consistency for accuracy, whether or not you ever research any of your more prominent opinions.

IHLAOY NewbieAre you implying that my knowledge on dolphins is in any way related to my knowledge and opinion on humanity as a whole? My points which are referenced and back up by several reputable sources (example http:(slashslash)news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/5165736.stm)? Are you somehow implying that my character is an any altering the words of my argument?
For christs sake, mate, judge me all you want, but my argument should be judged on its own merits. Don't hate me just because you can't find a flaw in it. -
There is no flaw in the logic. Just in the sympathy. I can't fault you for your reasoning. Just for denying a human touch. My original standpoint on this entire thread was towards the question as to whether or not animals had souls. The disagreement with the idea that animals are somehow less deserving of life than people simply because we have the ability to choose for them.
