Not to intrude in your terribly detailed debate, but to question DoA's first point, exactly how many people do you know that dump puppies on the side of the road? Cuz I know a lot more people who DON'T do that.
-
More than there should be. About every week or two, there's some sort of animal cruelty here.
-
How many people DO YOU KNOW? Also, I would say there are many more good people. Think of the hundreds of people watching the news who just went, "Aww, poor puppies!"
-
Agree with lucky
-
I wouldn't know any because I don't go out and socialize and I live on the good side of town. But does that really matter? If I were to know one of those people, is it gonna stop them? No, it's not.
Yeah, and look at what they did: not a damn thing. -
Oh
-
Animals do nothing wrong. We, as humans, are the real reason why humanity is going down the drain.
I've had my dog since he was a pup and I could never ask for a better best friend. -
Nobody is wrong. It is for some bad peoples
-
Let me just add to that- we're capable of doing evil. Animals can't.
-
Who told you animals can't? Do you a animal?
-
No I'm not an animal. But animals rarely on instinct and not intention. A cat, for example, does not have moral obligations. They can be mean, but mean isn't the same as "evil" or sinning.
The definition of "evil" is the intention to cause harm which humans are capable of doing. An "evil" teenage boy can torture and abuse a litter of puppies because it's his intention, his choice and his own free will to cause harm. In your case. An "evil" lion eats its prey because it is needed for survival. It is instinct, not being consciencely intentional. -
I agree. But humans are not evil.

IHLAOY NewbieAgain, my friend, I beg you to look up 'Anecdotal Evidence' in the context of a debate! You can't keep making this mistake! Using personal or isolated events to support your case, especially when it goes against the statistics, is not a good thing!
Yes, there are people that go out there and kill puppies. Mankind as a whole looks down on these people. His act is not supported. That alone is evidence enough that mankind is good! The majority of people would agree that he was not a good man. Is this not the sign of a good culture?
Dolphins kill for fun. They can also rape people. Does this make them better than people, simply because they're animals? Checkmate.
Also, I don't think you understand what instinct is. Instinct is an inherent inclination towards certain complex tasks. Instinct will tell a turtle to run to the sea upon being hatched. Instinct will tell a wolf to raise his cubs to serve the pack. Instinct will not let the wolf decide WHY he's raising his cubs that way, nor why the turtle needs to run, because it is a thoughtless pull. An urge that was made from thousands of years of evolution, (if you believe in it.) that has no actual thinking behind it.
A bee isn't taught how to talk to other bees, but is instead born with the ability.
My opinion is that mankind is good. How can you not see it? -
Agree

If all insects on earth disappeared, in 50 years life would die out.
If all people on earth disappeared, in 50 years life would flourish.
Food for thought.
