Yeah... Some people probably can't of ford the tax..
And just $37? Not even a thousands? -
Over a trillion a year not his fault. It just dissappeared into his money draining plans.

No... I don't think ive even personally had $1000. Im not rich. Not even close. All my money is saved up from my birthday money, and is from raking leaves. I'm saving up money to buy my mom and my dad christmas presents. Well, mostly my dad, but still. No, not even a thousand. I dont know about you, but my family is middle middle class. Not upper middle class. And the sad thing is, my family doesnt even qualify for refuced prices in school because my mom makes too much. But when you factor in food for 8 of us, heating(even though we use the fireplace), electricity, and other needs around the house, and tax, we hardly have any money. And yes, taxes is about half the reason my family doesnt have much money. All the local taxes, the state taxes, the federal taxes. And on top of that our monthly rent.

You know, I'm kind of sick of all you new people.
Except Sports19. I can tolerate her. -
Again, as Mo said. We need a new Congress, not a new president. Congress makes more of the decisions. Even if the president vetoes something, Congress can override it and put it into action with a 2/3 vote. They can decide not to use the president's ideas. So if everything is so bad, stop blaming it all on the president.

Think about this. Rich people work for their money just as the poor people do. Rich people should be able to keep their money, and so should poor people. It's really not fair that rich people work too, but they have to gi e up their money and the poor people don't.
-
Sage- aw, thanks, I think

It's actually pretty fair to ask people making millions of dollars to give it to the government, which then spends it on stuff everyone uses. Highways, police, fire departments, national defense, disaster relief. It's not very fair to take money from people who have very little in the first place and had to work just as hard, if not harder, than the rich to get that little money. I don't know how anyone can possibly feel sorry for the rich when millions of people in this country live off of minimum wage. Yet another case of people needing a lesson in perspective.

^ I agree with everything tounge said. And, My family is kind of like an example of that low income family you mentioned. Yes, my mom makes somewhat good money at her job, she needs that money to pay for necesities and tax and rent. And then her boyfriend makes, what?, a couple dollars more than minimum wage? And that is also going towards rent and things like that. And he only works about half yhe time. The other he is on unemployment because his work doesn't always need him. So, everyone that is saying that the rich need to be given less taxes? In my first hand opinion, the rich need more tax and the poor need less tax. And, there are a lot of families worse than mine. My friends family is much worse than mine. People always say the rich needs lower taxes also, untill they experience the lower side of middle class.

Exactly. I knew people when I was working in retail who worked sixty hours a week. Nobody making over $250,000 works 60 hours a week unless they're workaholics. And the poor do pay into taxes. Every paycheck I got, the government took money out of. That money goes to welfare and Social Security, so the poor pay into the programs they use. If you ask me, the minimum wage needs to be set at a living wage.
-
Ciriea2 NewbieIf I may add, That actually I do agree it's unfair that the poor have to pay all that money when they can't even afford food half the time! And I think the living wage isn't too bad of an idea! But, I do think that, yes, it's not about Fair! You should earn as much/hard that you work! If it were about fairness and equality than YOU may work 40 hours a week loading mail into a truck and another person slacked of course they were accounted for 40 hours they hardly did anything! and Took Forever! and complained the intired time while you worked your ASS off and you both are getting the same amount- well wait? If I worked harder? Shouldn't I get what I deserve? what I worked soo hard for? They did almost nothing but they get all that money? And that's why businesses collaps because they're paying their works when theres almost no work being done and no money gets through! and when businesses suffer so does the economy and the american people so yes! Fairness and Communisim doesn't work- never has and never will.
-
But if you think about it, if you take all the money from the rich, they will be poor. If you dont take the money from the poor, they could be rich and then the government takes the money again.
-
But the taxes are going to take all the money they worked for. Which will soon lead up to all of their money.
-
Ok let's try a different argument Zane: what would the rich do with a little more money provided by tax breaks? Or inversely, would the gov't raising taxes on them by 2.5% really deter them from working as hard?
-
Ciriea2 NewbieThe Economy I built like a teeter toter- It either has extreme highs OR extreme lows and then there's a middle point you see we're going to be in dept for a while no matter how you cut the cake so of course i agree lets not rob the rich because they did earn it~ but I think a decent tax is okay. So wha ever we do will either make us or break us it's either the depression gets worse or our problem is fix but if the government countinues over the next four years what they did the last it just might send us in for another great depression and it might not end so pretty- I'm thinking riots, looding, and so forth But Let's not get ahead of our selfs that's the furture what matters right now is that we lower this dept and don't spend any more money for flukes
