Family Court is where fathers systematically lose all rights to their own children, but remain financially responsible for them. This happens to 90% of fathers who go through the court, and it happens to hundreds of families each day. This has crippled hundreds of millions of men across western democracies both emotionally and financially, and has resulted in a 1500% higher suicide rate than regular men.

The person who fights to win the child and wins should have to pay for it.

What Geek said. The child deserves the most loving and responsible parent, and that is not always the woman.

...what Anastasia said.

considering the ease at which both parties can avoid custody hassle by just leaving when the pregnancy becomes apperent, on a personal level I have no sympathy for people who get caught this way. Men or women, and there's plenty of both.
On a social level, I'm attracted to the idea, of mandatory "marriage" when there's a kid involved.
It's a wild idea that probably wouldn't work the way I picture, but what if, when a baby is born, the couple that created it, have a mandatory marriage of assets, that doesn't necceserilly have anything to do with love or emotional s---, but purely to make both parties behave fairly about the raising of the child. since their assets are intertwined, no one would have motivation to cut the other one short, and both would be present to more effectively raise the child. -
my coworker is taking his babymomma to court in about a month, cuz babymomma is crazy, and doesn't take good care of the kid and my coworker almost never gets to see the kid unless babymomma needs to get rid of him for a couple weeks for whatever reason. now babymomma is trying to move far away so my coworker would probably never get to see his son again, so hes taking her to court to try to get custody or at least joint custody. my coworker is a good guy and a good dad and he's got 2 little girls at home and a girlfriend and they take good care of their kids and they're raising them right. All babymomma's got is that she's the mom and has custody right now and is taking tons of my coworker's hard-earned money in child support.
