I would say I'm a Libertarian because I'm pro-limited government and for keeping Constitutional rights. An issue I am concerned about is the massive debt our country is in. I believe the government should be cutting frivelous programs to pay off debt instead of higher people's taxes. If people aren't taxed to death they can then spend their money that they earned on their own health care, needs and have money left over to help other people in need. If small business is not taxed to death they can pay their employees a liveable wage and hire more employees, creating more jobs. We should not be making all these government programs to take care of people with money from taxes, but letting people take care of themselves.

I think everyones Independant but can be classed as things because their beliefs have main points of one party, etc. I would say I'm Independant
-
tongue NewbieI'm an Independent just because I don't like indentifying with either of the major political parties. The Democrats are wusses and just as guilty of catering to special interests as Republicans. My veiwpoints are obviously pretty in tune with the Democrats, though.

Demonjoe NoviceLibertarian probably suits me best but I would prefer to be known as a Republican.
-
Independant! I role on my own!!
-
Awesome everybody! Rock on Independents! (I guess I consider myself an Independent Libertarian)
-
Anti-capitalist.

I don't identify with one.

I tend to vote democrat, but I'm Green at heart. It's a nice ideal to say that people can take care of themselves, but the truth is that success in life is primarily determined by how much money your family has. There are so many barriers that face the poor it is totally unfair to say that its purely they're own fault if they don't end up successful. I also believe that everyone is entitled to government health care; no one should suffer from physical illness just because they're poor.
-
tongue NewbieI probably fall within that description myself, Hamilton. I'm an Independent unless I feel like joining a Third Party, and it's most likely that I'd end up joining the Green Party.

See I'm not very good at debating but I'll try to clearly state what I think. I believe if the government stays pretty much out of economics, especially small business people can go to school or learn a skill, get a career and contribute to the community, take care of themselves and buy their own health care and not stay dependent on the government. Therefore they have more freedom and even have enough money to help others. There should be equal availablity to education and advancement, but we have to work and contribute to the community. That's the best I think I can explain it at the moment, but if you think I should clarify on anything please ask me to do so.

The problem is, that while that is an ideal, it doesn't happen in the real world. We have a huge gap between the rich and the poor in this country. Just because you're supporting businesses does not mean you are supporting workers. Also, health care can be very expensive. It's really upsetting hearing about friends I know online who are have only a job, are trying to pay for school, and have to just deal with possibly dangerous medical conditions because they simply cannot afford to pay for treatment. Thousands of people die each year in the United States because they cannot afford health insurance.
Besides, big taxes aren't felt by small business, bust those that are extremely wealthy, and large corporations.
Keeping the government out of economics basically means that the big, powerful corporations have all of the power and can do what they want. Businesses don't want to pay workers excellent wages, or have health competition with other businesses. They want to make money (not that there is anything inherently wrong with that). Economics is driven by aggressive natural selection, not justice or morality. When corporations are not held back by the government, you have enormous monopolies, incredibly low wages, and children working all day in mines. That isn't an exaggeration. That really is what happened, and companies are STILL utilizing sweatshops in the countries where they can get away with it. -
I once heard a story of someone who went into a hospital vomiting blood and needing to be treated immediately, but the guy didn't have any money on him so the people just sat there and watched, until he eventually died.
This is one of the many reasons I hate the capitalist system, the people who could have helped knew they would get less pay if that guy didn't pay up, and if they got less pay people above them on the economic pyramid would be demanding their money and they wouldn't be able to pay it, and ta-da, everyone loses.
Seriously people, if at least healthcare were not involved in that vicious circle of a system, maybe people would be a lot better off. -
dude the healthcare ppl once left this oldman who had a stroke that lasted for hours until he died cuase he couldent pay and he diddnt have medicate
-
Demonjoe NoviceUmm, that's a story. I have never ever heard of that happening ever. If that did happen I would have heard about it before since I regularly watch the news, and read it on the internet too.
