Those words sent tears to Ivan's eyes. "But, you're terrified of me. And I'm afraid to touch you, for fear of hurting you.."

"It's.. it's my fault.. I just need time.. and everything can be okay again.." he whispered, trying to hold back his tears.

Ivan looked down. "Okay."

Giovanni nodded and sniffed, wiping his nose and eyes with one hand.

Ivan sighed. "Is it okay if I hug you?"

It seemed like Giovanni didn't like the idea at first, but finally he nodded. "Do it.."

Ivan walked forward slowly and wrapped his arms carefully around Giovanni, barely touching him.

At that moment, Giovanni began to cry. Hard, as usual.

Ivan rubbed Gio's back gently. "Sshhhh, it's okay. It's fine. Please don't cry, love."

"I'm so sorry," he apologized. "I don't know what got into me, Ivan. This is all my fault."

"No, it's fine. Everything would've been fine if I hadn't lost my temper. I'm so so sorry. I never wanted to hurt you."

Giovanni didn't really respond to that, because he didn't want to cause an argument on whose fault it was. So instead, he hugged Ivan with his good arm.

Ivan kept hugging Giovanni.

Giovanni, despite feeling really uncomfortable and still extremely scared, didn't pull from the hug.

Then Ivan pulled away. He didn't look at Giovanni just turned and went upstairs, walking past his room and heading to his parents room.
