He found the silence strange and uncomforting. He wanted to speak, but he was eating and that seemed impolite. So he just continued.

"So, you've gone to the school before?" Tray asked.

"Uh, yeah. For about four years," he replied, his moth a bit full. He swallowed and laughed. "Oops, sorry. So you're new? Where do you come from?"

"Like school or state or what?"

"Both, I guess," he grinned.

"Well, I've been homeschooled my whole life. Well, nearly my whole life. Ever since fourth grade when I threatened a teacher, I've been homeschooled. And I'm from Washington."

"Threatened by a teacher? Why?"

"No, I'm the one who threatened a teacher..."

"I.. I thought I heard that wrong.. but.. Why did you threaten the teacher?"

"She didn't let me read my story to the class..." He said.

"That's terrible," he pouted. "I bet it would have been a great story."

"Yeah, it was. That's why I got pissed." Tray continued to eat.

"I see.. Hmm, isn't there any chance you still have the story?" he asked, smiling lightly as he ate as well.

"No. Well, I don't have it with me. My parents have it somewhere."

"Oh," he said, a little disappointed.
